Welcome to Plat's first major event! We're back at Fruitland Farms, a course concept originally conceived by theclv24 who is known for his Georgia recreations. For all of you unaware, this is not a specific course down in a Georgia, but instead a riff off of it using multiple ideas from the course's earlier years before it was reworked into oblivion combined with a lot of community feedback on proposed changes for the course that would make it play semi-distinctly while still retaining its original spirit. The 2022 version mainly focuses on the two par 5s on the back 9, altering their greensites. There is also a fresh set of tees and some pin alterations as well. Hole 13's different, pushed back greensite is featured in this picture and is perhaps the most dramatic change. Hope you all enjoy! Next week expect a hard course off the tee with some easier settings sprinkled in.

Still here… 😎😎😎
I shot 15 shots better on TST through two rounds than here… on the same course and very similar conditions… 😂😂😂
Needless to say, I’ll collect umpteen red thingies this week and I deserve all of them!

Well I'll miss the cut (again) this week and at -16 after 2 will be sweating on whether I collect any demos or not.
I felt I actually hit the ball pretty well and didn't putt that badly either. Two bogeys on my opening round hurt an otherwise decent card and I was all set to push for -20 or below before disaster struck on the par 3 12th in rd 2. My tee shot was about a yard short before rolling back into the water on my way to triple bogey and my tournament ending.
Starting to wonder why I put myself through it each week.

We all go through that feeling. Tbh the break in Elite for four weeks did me good. 👨🏻🍳⛳️

Haha stadiumrocker it's so infuriating indeed when you blow up a whole week in a single hole, like I did here and here in two consecutive weeks earlier this season. This week I probably would make the cut, too, had I just stayed bogey-free. But I overshot the green on hole 4 of round 2 and then couldn't deal with the slopes for a very inelegant double. So no man's land it is once more for me and my -18 total for two rounds. I played better in the second half of the tournament and managed to add a meaningless -16 in somewhat harder conditions (for me at least). Good luck all! See you next week!

Augusta can be a little bit different with the greens and slopes but even so the mistakes I make are just crazy.

Every week I am good for 1 or 2 it seems even when I am playing well. I actually hit the ball well enough this week to stay bogey-free, but I ended above the hole on 18 in R1 and, well, I putted the damn thing off the green and made bogey.... -21 at the cut with some monster low scores on the leaderboard is good for T35 currently, I am hoping that bogey doesn't keep me out of the weekend!

I'm starting to notice a trend in my play. I'm in a very weird type of purgatory it would seem. I am just good enough to be in platinum. I can neither make the cut nor get demo marks. Each week it would seem. Starting to wonder what I should do at this point.

Each week it would seem. Starting to wonder what I should do at this point. Make yourself comfortable! We are at the top end of a normal distribution here, and the best players are so consistently good that there's not much room each week to make the cut. Thus, you're definitely not alone! I just set myself the goal of avoiding demo marks, and I celebrate the occasional made cut like a win. Since it is so hard to make cuts, demo marks are difficult do get rid of. I got demoted to Elite twice since I first made it to Plat, but got back up within a few weeks both times. One thing you could do if the cut line is too high at the moment is looking for potential rivals and trying to beat them. Also, you could try competing in TST and start participating in side events. One of the best here on the forum is Tyler Parra's NFL Stableford. On Discord, you find alt shot tournaments and match play events on a regular basis. And then, there's a team competition over here. I hope this helps. Cheers!

I have a question for the top players if they would be honest. Do you ever have tempo issues from ps4 lag? Sometimes when I play, it is quite easy to hit perfect tempo and other times the forgiveness is much harder and at that point I have no chance of competing. Also, I can't find a comfortable consistent setup to hold the controller to ensure consistent tempo. Also, sometimes my lines are relatively straight and other time it is off when holding the controller and swinging the same way. These 3 issues for me have completely taken away all enjoyment from the game b/c I feel like I have no chance of competing with the SAME guys that do well every week. I have a feeling they do not have these issues, perhaps because they have a consistent connection and always have the easiest tempo. I can think of no other way that they are so consistent. Bottom line for me is that I feel the 3 click system is much more fair for competition purposes. That way I can not have to worry about having a perfect holding position on the controller, which I can only get when putting pillows or something over my lap to put the controller on. Otherwise there is NO consistency. It is tedious! I just want to play and not have to worry about having to take 5+ minutes every time I play to try to make a setup for my controller to hold it comfortably. 3 click system would fix that and take away any BS edge that some players get by having a better connection or setup.

Nope I'm on ps4 and have all the same issues. Tempo is not consistent so I've just resigned myself to having to be one of those practice swingers. Do you use the "left/right" or whatever they call it calibration method? I used to only have one perfect point dead center but after the RF nerf that cseanny(?) guy let out that most of the good players had figured out how to get more perfect points by calibrating 10 very slows. Once I started using that I could at least see some consistency in the tempo and if I was on the fast or slow side of perfect. That and slowing down to take practice swings to adjust to the changing tempo really helped me a lot. I used to go through a few different sitting positions/controller grips each time I played to see what felt good that day, but now I just sit the same way with the controller in the same spot and adjust my fingers to get the plane right. I'm a "pinch" swinger so not sure how that will work for you. But, yes, I also have to change the "line" I'm swinging on the get a straight blue line sometimes. I can literally sit right over the controller and see I'm not swinging straight back and forth but whatever works that day.

This actually, is my biggest problem and which has resulted I me playing less and less also. I don't know whether a new controller would help but I can rarely swing straight anymore, short of having to hold the controller in a strange way and/ or feeling like I have to swing at a 25 to twelve o'clock angle. Anyone that watches my streams will see how off my straight swing is. Tempo is not so much the issue for me, it's the straightness of my swing that kills me sometimes especially if with putter which can find me missing straight putts with no break. I didn't seem to have this issue so much when on Master swing difficulty.

The scores at the top really do blow my mind and especially around a course like Augusta where the greens are like glass and there are no margins for error. There was one shot for me this week, I think on 16 or 17 where I hit a great approach into an uphill green and was literally a foot from it stopping, which would have left a 4 footer for birdie. Instead it rolled all the way off the green and into a bunker. Unless you devote your life to thus game, making the cut on Platinum for the casual player is really tough. You've got to remember the top 30 players features the usual suspects ever week so out of a field of 150, 120 players are battling out for 35 places. That's really difficult. I still enjoy the game to a degree but no one can convince me that Pro swing has been good for this tour. This was introduced, remember to make the playing field more level for Xbox players due to the swing dynamics, we were told. Out of 180 players that teed off this week, only 2 are playing on Xbox.

Yeah very good points gents. Suppose I'll just have to do my best each week and see if I can make something happen. haha. I won't give up for sure. Obviously we're in some serious company.
I have a question for mods or someone that can help with a scoring issue.
I played my first and second rounds. Shot -16 and didn't make the cut. I assumed that was the end of the event for me and I never finished rounds 3 and 4. After checking the results today it shows me as a Withdrawal. Is there a penalty for doing so? Did I do something wrong? Or maybe I should just finish rounds 3 and 4 from now on?

You finished on the same score as me, yet I'm not down as withdrawn instead in the main body of players that missed the cut. I rarely make a Platinum cut so don't end up up completing the tournaments. The only thing I can think you may have done, is at the end of your 2nd rd have you clicked 'Advance' by accident and then quit which would mean you've started to play your 3rd round but not completed. 8n saying that though, you've not made the cut so I wouldn't have thought it would matter. Perhaps a question for the admin team.
