Extensions are fine. 15 days is nothing. If you have a piece of sh%$, it'll take more than 15 days to polish it. There is nothing you can do in 15 days to make the course go from bad to good or good to great or great to elite.

Wow, three pages debating a deadline extension?
It’s the contest organisers’ call. Given we’ve cancelled CC, have a limited number of publishes and the game is near the end of its lifespan (therefore a bit of a grind) I don’t see why we wouldn’t extend it.
If your argument is that it’s disadvantaging those who’ve published early, then they shouldn’t have published. Only publish when you’re ready.

Wow, this really blew up. I think we're completely missing the point of these contests. They provide the community with more golf courses to play. Courses that weren't just slapped together without a purpose. Turning it into a design competition may help drive people to build better courses and in turn be recognized for them, sure. At the end of the day, though, these contests are mostly meaningless, there's no cash prize, no trophy, no apprenticeship with Tom Doak. You just get a little forum badge and some bragging rights. It's all about fun, so why not try to get everyone involved and build more great courses for the community to enjoy? And if you still disagree because you're super competitive like me, my advice to you is don't publish a half-assed course at the beginning of the publish window and whine about a 15 day extension when you left four weeks on the table. 😂 Now if you'll excuse me I'm gonna go pack up my truck now and enjoy a weekend of camping with my wife and dogs since I have an extra 15 days to build my golf course!

Hmmm, well, i don't know what side I'm leaning on as someone who's already published, but what I'm learning from this 3 page diatribe is probably best described in this article that was shared with me as a coordinator in my first job about differing opinions. A good use of 4 minutes if you have it. Cheers

All I know is, I developed a cocaine, caffeine and amphetamine addiction, put my marriage at risk, estranged my 3 children, lost copious amounts of hair, and still managed to put on 25 lbs, all to publish just under the deadline of June 1st. So you should understand my feelings on moving the date!

Hey Crazycanuck1985, we are extending the deadline. Let’s go with an arbitrary 15 day extension for now for no good reason. Unless you come up with some other number. Consider the window pushed to July 15. Thanks for clarifying, Wes. That's all I was after. For me it is one less deadline to meet in the next week (and a few hundred more grave stones into my National War Cemetary!).

So you should understand my feelings on moving the date! Let's not get crazy here...it was probably only 20 lbs...haha! And if you're like me, you probably already had a caffeine addiction before this! :-)

I’m as handsome as ever, just ask my girlfriend.

When I think about it, I was going to put off going real golfing on Saturday to finish a virtual golf course. That's just silly. Thanks for the extention jwtexan! I'm going to go golf this weekend instead.
