Welcome to the 2022 National Treasure Design Competition!
For the first time in the history of the competition, we are giving this year's competition a distinctly American feel! Contestants will be RANDOMLY assigned a US State and will be tasked to create a course that distinctly captures the feel and look of that particular locale. This contest is meant to push designers out of their comfort zone. HOWEVER, new this year, you will get a chance to TRADE states with another competitor!.
Details
Contest organizers: jwtexan and Crazycanuck1985
Number of Competitors: 50 (maximum). If we get fewer, we will just cut states (I'm looking at you, North Dakota)
Timeline: TBA, but most likely a standard 3 month window (March 25th- June 25th) ish. Publish window will open in May.
Rules: Signups will close March 17th and the WHEEL will return in a special stream on My Twitch Channel where states will be randomly assigned to competitors (stream date TBA). New this year: Competitors will get an opportunity to TRADE states with another designer. Both designers will need to agree and trades will be posted in a separate thread that will appear in a couple of weeks. From there, only restrictions are to build a standard golf course (no par 3, executive, putting courses) in the timeframe.
Judging: 50 competitors will be swiftly narrowed down to 25 Finalists, where more in-depth judging will begin.
How to Sign up: just post your forum name below as well as the platform you design on and the most 'Murican GIF you can find.
