It’s coming along nicely. I’m back in Brissy the first week of November but unfortunately won’t have time to play otherwise I’d be taking on my mates invitation of a game at Grand. Oh that's a shame. Next time you're over east and you've got someone who can get you on, you should free up some time. I think it's worth it. They're actually doing some pretty serious maintenance which is due to finish by December, so maybe next time will be better anyway. |

It was too tight for this trip, I only get back from Phuket on the Thursday, then the following Wednesday I’m in Brisvegas and the following Monday I leave for Hong Kong, otherwise I would have snuck a weekend in.

Change of tack a little bit, plan was to get the entire course mapped and measured, then work on sculpting and planting. But (1) that's boring, and (2) getting some planting in helps me visualise the sightlines and sculpting etc - as I'm doing this all by eye it's just really helpful with regards to setting sight lines etc. So the new plan is to plant out some parts of the course as I go, try to put in some views off the tee and some general planting around the greens. I'll leave the rest of the plot unplanted for now and will fill in the gaps when I finish putting the holes in. Then of course lots of finer work to be done at that point. This is the tee shot of hole 10, a short uphill par 4 with a very tricky back to front green, bunkers and a steep run-off area at the front and a couple flared bunkers at the back (which in real life inevitably leave you on a downhill lie to a green sloping away from you - don't go into these bunkers). This hole is all about distance control on the second shot. I will clean it up a bit but it's not bad so far.  |

Can’t wait for this, it’s looking great so far Thanks Paddy. I'm looking forward to Wentworth. I have another excuse to post a pretty picture. This is the green of hole 11. Hole 11 is an fantastic hole to play, but is probably the first on this course where the distance off the tee in this game makes a significant difference to how the hole plays. Short par 5 through the forest up and over a big hill. A decent drive and you can run down the hill leaving a mid iron in. Or if you're shorter you can knock it down the hill for a wedge across the water to the green. But in this game you blast it right over the hill and the hole loses some character. There's nowhere to put a fictional tee further back. Professionals play it as a par 4, it wasn't liked by the pros when the course hosted the Australian open as they'd always end up in the rough on the left due to a steep camber down the hill, but after that some earthmoving was done to build up that side of the fairway. In game it's a pretty straight forward par 4. I've been enjoying making this, not having to worry about hole designs and just spending some time with some of the detailed stuff. I think I've learnt a lot about making realistic environments, a lot surrounding getting the scale of things right which I struggle with sometimes. Also bunker sculpting, as well as sizing and placement. I wanted to do this little environment by the green as it's in its own little pocket isolated from the rest of the course, and my daughter's stolen the laptop so I can't use it to get measurements for the next hole.  |

Hi guys sorry to interrupt.
I have been trying to get GC lidar to work with Chad's tool 3.3. No matter what I do it just does not work! Trying to do a reno of the pines at sanctuary cove.
Have been a member at both forever, but currently renting my memberships via the clubs do to il health.

Have been a member at both forever, but currently renting my memberships via the clubs do to il health.
