Congratulations on purchasing a share in Numinbah Valley Golf Club Inc, you are now one of the lucky few who has the privelege of being an owner / member at South East Queensland's most exclusive golf club. With memberships capped at just 606 shareholders, and the course being exclusively for the use of members and their guests, you never have to book a tee time - just turn up and play.
The Numinbah Valley winds its way directly between the Springbrook National Park and the Lamington National Park, in the Gold Coast hinterland. Set amongst rolling hills backing onto temperate rainforests, the Numinbah Valley Golf Club offers a tranquil escape from the city and an opportunity to experience the natural beauty of South East Queensland.
Originally developed as a golf course in the early 90s by a Japanese conglomerate, the land sat fallow for almost two decades after the course went bankrupt following the 1997 Asian Financial Crisis, before being purchased by a group of promenant Queensland businessmen who set about redesigning and rerouting the course to a world class standard.
The course itself is a par 72 at 7286 yards from the back tees, and features hard and fast conditions throughout, large greens which can be slippery in places, and many bunkers cut right into the fairway and green edges.
Why not leave work early this afternoon and get a round in before dusk? Or perhaps set the alarm early and tee off tomorrow at dawn?

Really lovely course! I've got a mate who is a member at "The Grand" and I can imaging this would be a similar experience. Good looking plot between the two lakes i.imgur.com/KAvIbI3.jpgWonderful looking clubhouse i.imgur.com/z0mJwCZ.jpgThe starters hut is a nice addition i.imgur.com/P47Nkr9.jpg, but an exclusive club would have trimmed the bushes from the path. The pizza hut in the bush was interesting with an indoor garden i.imgur.com/oAM0Lgr.jpgEven the cows are relaxed in their paddock i.imgur.com/A5TbcLU.jpgThe course itself plays really nicely. Oh so close to the green on the first. The third was interesting with the fairway being so wide. The bunker in front of the green sat nicely. I went the short route on the 5th only to catch the overhanging tree. The bunkering in front of the 6th was funky but gave a great sightline. I thought I hit a fantastic approach into 7 to only be inches short of running down to the pin. Playing safe on 10 I had a blocked shot with the large pine but a big cut in did the trick. A massive green on 11 for such a short hole. Thought I'd take a long cut on 12. Playing safe on 15 had me behind another tree that I just cleared with a pitch. Nice risk/reward on 16 with the creek splitting the fairway. Nearly drove the green. Lovely island(ish) green on 17. Strong finishing hole with driver/driver getting me on the green into an 8mph wind. Really enjoyed my round!

Thanks mate, lovely comments. Yes there are a few trees that effect play but those are all there intentionally. And yes, The Grand was a significant influence, I've played there many times. Here's a shot I took at The Grand a few weeks ago. I found the maples with the white trunks to be the closest representation of the big gum trees: I'm quite pleased with the end result here. Edit - I just watched your playthrough - thanks! I'm glad you decided to go left onto the next fairway on the 12th - I promise it's never better to go that way.

fargo, it's a shame we don't have more Australian fauna in the game. I'd like to see "grass trees" and all the gums from eucalypts to ghost.

Another real course in WA Perth which I trying my best to recreate. Recently added the final version " Meadow Springs Perth 2K21". Liked to see more Australia courses coming in 2K21. Seems to be " The Cut" and many others are not in database yet. Hole 4 custom setting at dawn mode.

Nice course here, fargo. Your planting and rockwork around the water is really well done. Makes me want to play some golf in Australia!

Well now that our international borders are fully open to tourists finally, you can come down any time you like! There are lots of very nice courses down here. Always happy to help with course recommendations down most of the east coast.

This course has been out for a week and it seems to have been positively received. It was reviewed as Tour Worthy, and I've just noticed it will be hosting the Beer League's Firethorn Legends Open at the end of the month, which is pretty cool.
Thanks to everyone who has played the course already, I hope you enjoyed yourself.
I wanted to have a bit of fun with the original course description above, but now it's been a week I should probably put up a more personal write-up.
Firstly - if you have played the course and you enjoyed it enough to want to play it again, give it a go at dawn. Default time is dusk. I designed the course to look good in both of these lighting conditions, which wasn't easy. In fact dawn was the default lighting for more than 90% of the design process, it was only very late on that I decided to swap. I think there's a significant change to the character of many holes, let me know which you prefer.
This is my third course submitted here (plus I made one auto-gen thing before that). My first course was called 18 Distinctive Holes, and was rejected. Second was Cape Trepidation G.C. and was accepted. That one's not bad but has significant problems. Mr Ameobi played through that and some of his feedback was helpful in helping me improve as a designer. Also sandgroper has helped me immensely with his assistance and feedback stretching back to when I was doing my first course. Nice to get the TW here to keep the upwards trajectory going.
My intention was to create a course that is immersive, interesting and fun, and that presents some of the character of some of the great courses in the region like The Grand (as mentioned above), Bonville, Brookwater, The Glades, Hope Island etc. I'm quite proud of this effort.
I don't play a lot of tournament rounds, I just enjoy the courses and I play very casually. So I actually have no idea how this course would fare in more serious or tournament play. I know not everyone is going to enjoy all of the holes and I'd love to hear what works and what doesn't work for you. I want to continue to improve as a designer and I do value all feedback. I'll play a bit more competitive stuff now this course is finished, I'm still on CCJ after a very long hiatus and I've recently joined the TST, so just four rounds per week.
Course was designed very slowly on my PS4. I don't think I'll be cranking out courses quickly or regularly, I just take my time over it, I enjoy the process. My next project is going to be a RCR of The Grand, going to do it freehand on my PS4. I've never done one before and I expect it to be quite challenging. There's a thread about it in courses under construction, check it out for a few pretty pictures.
Thanks guys, Chris
