Dear TST enthusiasts,
For this week's Los Angeles Open we travel to the Riviera Country Club. I know some of you will love this one and others will... well, they will not. Some of the greens at Riviera are... errr... challenging! Therefore, I tried to convince the GreensKeeper to slow down the greens for you. He refused... in fact, he simply walked away from me with a smile, while murmuring: "Have you seen their scores? Slowing them down!? Right..."
Good luck and have fun! Frans

I say this hoping to be proven wrong, but I think there will be a lot of DNF's this week, greens are atrociously brutal. *Edit* I do not like this course personally, but I know others will. All i can say is, that I scored 2 shots better than last season Good Luck all, play well

All i can say is, that I scored 2 shots better than last season Good Luck all, play well While some of HB's courses are well made the pins on slopes ruin some of their courses for faster greens, having to slow the greens down to make them playable is frustrating. Is it a good idea to trick up a course just to bring the scores down?, the course should play realistically regardless of the swing difficulty level that TST plays. Though Riviera only has a couple of bad pins iirc, I am a big fan of the course in real life and the game so I might give TST a shot this week.

I really like Riviera. Even the crazy greens! Round 1 = -1. x4 birdies but a couple of +1s and a double booooogey did not help my cause.
Round 2 awaits! Good luck TSTers.

66 first round. Better than I expected, didn't even realise the first was a par 5 until he said eagle putt when I was lining up from about 10 feet. Naturally I missed it 😂😂 Got fooled by a couple of greens later in the round that just about moved sideways but otherwise not too bad.

Round 2... copy paste... -1. Total at the halfway = -2. Won't be enough to make the cut this week but I still enjoy the challenge Riviera offers. See you all in Florida!

After making the cut last week, I struggled with the greens this week. +3, -1 for a +2 at the cut.
Ahh the Sunshine State! Heading that way now.
Onward!

-4 & -4 for -8 at the cut ... and I played well! These HB greens, with these mowing patters, are simply impossible to read on my monitor. Just one bogey but more than a dozen putts moving in the opposite direction I expected it to go. I do hope you all realise how much I love you because I sure as **** am not scheduling these HB monstrosities for my pleasure... Best wishes Frans

One of those days when you are chuffed if you miss the green. Personally got far more chance of getting near the hole with a chip than a putt!! -3 at the cut will ensure another early bath

Riviera is a really good challenge with some fairly unique holes so very happy to get it to -13 after 2 rounds. I think I only had 1 three putt which is a relief as you can really lose it on those greens. Sometimes I'll play the career mode on the toughest settings for fun i.e. no grids etc, and I think this is the first time it actually helped me in TST. Although when I'm playing career mode on those settings for fun perhaps its time to re-evaluate my life...! My advice to those still to play, if you're in 2 minds and think you're giving a putt too much break chances are you probably aren't. Good luck!

-4 after the 1st round. I might have been lucky to have the ball end up in the right spots on the greens, but I didn't think rd 1 was that bad. Only one pin really stood out, for me, and that was the par 3 6th?, I think. Nasty pin, especially when you get above the hole. Almost always a guaranteed 3 putt for me.

Stupidly decided to start the tourney after doing my 4 Plat rounds. After an ok start, Rd 2 became frustrating on and around the greens. Then speed golf happened, then my patience ran out on the back 9 and I spat the dummy in a red wine fuelled rage resulting in a missed cut. The numbers will speak for themselves when they reveal themselves in a few hours time. Greens are f****d.

66 again. Never would have expected -10 to be tied 22nd after two rounds on any event with the pro setting. Didn't have as many crazy putts this time, although I did double bogey the first after somehow putting off the green with my eagle putt, going uphill 🤷 then butchering the rest evidently. Nice to see the weekend again.

Haven't had a chance to play the last few weeks but had to come play Riviera. Love the course irl and (some greens aside) I think it's good in game as well. Tee to green at least haha
Went -35, with a 58 on round 4 to just pip TheLightningGuy for the current Xbox lead. Great fun and play well folks.
