Hey all, I've been really struggling to pick up a project for a while and I think I've finally found a plot that I don't hate! I'm going for a track inspired by Monte Rei in the south of Portugal - the plot and layout together, a couple of holes surfaced but I've hit a bit of a wall with my planting scheme. The thing I'm struggling with is creating some scrub/brush areas that offset the manicured playing surfaces. Here's the inspiration - I'm designing in Delta as the course is in the hills with ocean in the distance (not happy with the Steppe/Desert look) and I just can't seem to get the look with textures and planting. Here's where I'm at at the moment - Any tips would be hugely appreciated 👍

Looks pretty solid to me. Maybe add in a few of the tropical trees buried to make some of the bigger bushes and a touch of the red bushes or skinny flowers for color?

Some pictures below from both. But it looks like from your pictures of the IRL course that for yours you could use more bushes than either of them did and less grass. Sink some bushes too. Don't just surface plant them all. Sink some and make them bigger covering more area. Then make others smaller around it creating different shaped and sized bush areas so it isn't so uniform and obvious that it is just 1 or 2 bushes in the area. Switching to delta might also help. Planting in delta "dirties up" the ground to make it look like a browner area in green wherever you plant. So you don't necessarily have to make the entire plot brown around the planting.

Lighting can work in your favor, the lack of brown bushes can be overcome by picking red ones in overcast or low lighting

Looking at the real life pictures, I wonder whether using Steppe and the base texture rather than the brown heavy rough might work better?
