Rd 1 -7 Thought I would go out early and I have to be happy with that. Reason is I birdied 1 3 and 5 but then hit a lot of rough (its thick out there, even if you just roll in, as i did) . One more bird and customary bogie so -3 with 4 to play. Bird 16, bird 17 and a lovely or lucky splash eagle from 35 yards. Good luck and hit drives straight bino819

Round 1: started off good through first 2. 3rd was the first sign of things to come, missed tempos all the way but still got birdie. Then turned into "bleh" mode, most important club in the set had no tempo whatsoever and other clubs were hit or miss. Ended up having to save plenty of holes and take some moves that I wouldn't do otherwise because I couldn't trust myself enough. Think I had a grand total of 3 or 4 pretty good par saves on here. One bogey came off a red fast into the drink. Good distance from the drop to even save par, but of course tempo miss there got me in the heavy stuff and thus, no chance. A shame that this was the off tempo round, completely scorable and couldn't do it. EDIT: oh yeah, and a three putt par on 18. First one from 60 feet, too far. Second just missed. Never have I hoped that I'd be obstructed or off the green more than there but alas, could still putt from there if barely. Round 2: more normality for me, tempo solution may have been found (just one round of it but didn't miss the tempo too badly even once). Some stuff left to pick up, but at least this is a good setup round. I hope that the first round is the only struggler one. Been feeling off a bit more these past few days but round 2 at least made me feel like I've still got it. Time will tell how things go. Cheers. bino819

Pretty happy with the final week effort, although I left a few on the table with short putts I blew and a couple par 5s I misplayed. But overall bogey free I think, which is big on these courses that are so scoreable. R1: -14 R2: -13 R3: -15 R4: -12 Round 2 card: Round 4:

Beautiful looking course but not a beautiful score from me.Had alot of missed putts due to lip outs or shaving the hole in round one.Eagle on third hole and bogey on fifteen, from less than ten feet with my tee shot😣. -10 Round two hole by hole score. 3,4,4,3,3,2,5,3,3 5,4,2,4,4,3,4,3,3 Tryed to go for the green off the tee on the tenth hole and made a right dogs dinner of it,resulting in a bogey.Eagle on the last hole helped out. Luckily i played the front nine severn under, compared with three under on the back nine.Round two -10 At the cut line at -20 Round three, bogey and an eagle round again. -8 Round four hole by hole score. 3,5,4,3,5,3,4,4,3 4,4,4,5,4,3,4,3,4. -3. Total of -31 The vast amount of scoring came from the front nine,-8 was the total score for the back nine for the four rounds, average of -2 a round 😠. Goodluck everyone else left to play, but don't fall for her beauty.😀.

R1: -17 R2: -12 (3 4 3 2 4 3 4 3 3 5 4 3 4 2 2 4 3 4)
Okay, this makes no sense to me. I mean, most of my play over the last few weeks hasn't made much sense to me, but this is a whole different flavour of bizarre. As usual I took a deep breath as I teed off on the first hole of R1, just thinking about trying to avoid bogeys, and that -7 per round should be enough to make the cut in CC-F this week. Having been within a single stroke the cut (above or below) over the last 5 weeks that was as high as my ambition could rise to. What happened next was practically an out of body experience.
I can't really explain it except that my tempo was pretty much on point all the way through, I read the wind well, I actually gave some thought about where to place my shots and today the putts all seemed to roll in. The only blemish over 36 holes was a silly bogey on #10 in R2 where I abandoned my sensible play and got greedy. Well, greedy gets you indigestion.
So, after being right on the cut for several weeks I now find myself tied for 1st place (at the time of writing) after two rounds. I won't be able to maintain that kind of scoring of course so I shall bask in the warm glow of puzzled contentment while it lasts.

Whew, what a couple rounds you saved for the trophy week! Great shooting my man!

This guy over here making birdie in both rounds on 15? What sort of wizardry is this? Great shooting.
(Until you tell me that one or both of them were chip-ins, and then I'll just dismissively say "pfft, I could have done that. I didn't, but only because I didn't want to!!)
