The Cyder Cup IV - The Final Countdown Day 3 Match 8The final match of Day 3 pitted new boys Lucas InThisStyle and Son of Mark (no relation to Son of Sam) Jason jhandz92 who quietly got on with business away from the glare of the Press Gang circus. A strong back nine from Jason took the point for the Strikers Jason (Strikers) wins 5 & 3Latest: Monarchs 18.5 Strikers 19.5 Day 4 Match 3Next up was another new boy Konsta Palo who is some kind of pixel golf wizard as we will all become only too aware of next season!! His opponent Shaggy Mark B mbuenger Shaggy by name, shags by nature. Pretty good shot by Mark here trying to take down the wizard but Konsta held firm (nothing to do with Snow White, just his golf). Konsta (Monarchs) wins 4 & 2 Latest: Monarchs 19.5 Strikers 19.5 Day 4 Match 4
So it all came down to the final match out on the course. Tough New Jersey hoodlum Johhny evilgrin72 for the Bad Guys against Snow White's favourite dwarf (I'll let you determine which dwarf Kenny boy is) Ken L jg24kl for the Good Guys. These two Brew Crew stalwarts slugged it out toe to toe Rumble In The Jungle like (yep I know the course wasn't in the jungle but you try getting Darkwater or Barrens to rhyme with Rumble). Monarchs Johnny went 1 up on the 13th but a monster 85 foot putt by Ken (may be a bit of poetic licence) tied things up on the 16th and neither would give over the final 2 holes. No Hero shot. Johnny (Monarchs) and Ken L (Strikers) All SquareAnd so we came to a breathless conclusion. Brew Crew lot are easily breathless as they are totally unfit due to spending most of their times on their arses holding a beer in one hand and a controller in the other! FINAL RESULT MAGNERS MONARCHS 20 STRONGBOW STRIKERS 20
In the age old golfing tradition that means that the Strikers, as the holders of the Trophy coming into the match, retain it!! Alternatively Ashton and Ken as Team Captains could fight to the death dressed as dwarves for our amusement. Winner takes all. It's been a great week, full of mediocre pixel golf, plenty of beer and hard drugs and Snow White turning into a sex symbol. Thanks to all players whose prompt play made this easy to run, the Press Gang (Head Hack Mark L IGolfBad Paul B sid snott Paul M Harveydog500 Mark B mbuenger Ken W coggin66 Art Art Vandelay ) for giving us a lot of laughs and for Ashton Ashton Fox and Carol inflames47 from the Monarchs and Ken W coggin66 and Sam Riotous from the Strikers for leading their respective teams so enthusiastically. The Press Gang are now on an all expenses paid (by Mark L) trip to Vegas so next time that Press call goes out you may want to consider it!! Until the next time. Onward!!! FINAL SCOREBOARD

Oh man.... On 18 in round 4, I had an 8 footer to finish the round, huge break on it. Had to play almost a full grid to the right and it was a millimeter too much, caught the edge and bent around the lip and out. I was annoyed WITHOUT knowing that putt could have won the damned Cup.
Now I'm going to have to drunk myself into oblivion. In fairness, I was going to do that anyway.

Congratulations to Ken and all the Strikers team. After everything that went on this week, a draw is the last thing anyone would have expected, but that's golf. Would personally like to thank Ashton and Carol for their support and guidance throughout the tournament. We'll get them next time. Well done all the new players. I hope you enjoyed your first foray into the Brew Crew, and yes we do go on like this all the time 🤣. Special thanks to all the reporters. Your commentary makes this competition. I will definitely be putting my hand up to help out with this next Cup. Big shoes to fill though. Last and definitely not least, thank you so much Ben for everything you did this week. I think everyone knows how important you are to this Society. You make a good pixel golf game great and are the glue that keeps this motley crew together. Looking forward to Season 8. Cheers Ross.

Final Interview RH: I have the two Team Captains with me. That was a nail-biting finish. A draw. Which means the Strikers retain the trophy. Ashton? AF: It was a great match. Both teams brought their B+ game and slugged it out. But I knew before we started that this would be the result. Congrats, Ken, for retaining the Cup. KW: Thanks Ashton and to Carol and the rest of the Monarchs for putting up such a strong fight. I felt like we were trailing for much of the tournament but scraped the draw in the end. It was a lot of fun. I'm happy we could entertain the gallery too. Many thanks to my VC Sam and all the Strikers players. As a reward, Snow White is on me … then you … then you're next ...
[Roll End Credits]
Many thanks to Set Designer - B101 Location Manager - Dan Blanton Head Writer - Mark Lawrence Producer - Ben Tough
[Cut to End Easter Egg]:
Voiceover Guy: NEXT TIME ON THE CYDER CUP ...
[In the Strikers HQ] Art: Agent Ken was Captain last time and you were Vice Captain. As we agreed, this time you will swap, 003.5 Sam: Why did I get that licence number? Art: You’re only half as good as that other guy? He has SPECTRE to deal with. You only have a bunch of butterflies. Now get out.
[In a laboratory] Sam: What gadgets have you got for us this time QT? Pete: No time travel this time. No tempo. I have this Aston Martin golf cart laden with extras. Please bring it back in one piece, Mr Pond.
[Shot of Sam Pond on 1st tee] Sam: The name's Pond, Sam Pond.
[Shot of Sam tied to a mast] Sam: Do you expect me to lose? Ashton: No, Mr Pond. I expect you to die!
[Fade to Black]
CYDER CUP WILL RETURN

What an unbelievable ending! Congrats to the Strikers on keeping the cup and evening the series at 2-2. We'll look forward to seeing you again soon! 🤝👏 As the sun sets on this Cyder Cup, I wanted to say a few things: First and foremost, thank you to the admin who put this all together. You do a fantastic job and I appreciate you all so much. This was another great event and I think you'd be hard pressed to find someone who didn't feel the extra bit of special that is this week. To the admins, thank you! 👏 To SkyBlueBen, I try not to be shy about telling you how awesome you are for what you do and so I won't hold back much here, either: you are the heartbeat that keeps this thing pumping. Without your efforts, we don't have this. Thank you for everything! 👏 To the press crew, you kept the masses in stitches and your creativity and execution is second to none. Did I say execution? I meant your execution via Ben from the huge bar tab y'all rung up 😂. Here's to you: 👏 To our lovely Vice Captain, Carol ( inflames47 ): THANK YOU! You have been nothing short of amazing! I appreciate everything you've done and all the time and effort you put in 👏 To the Monarchs, I know I said my piece in the locker room but this is what I want the Strikers to know about this group: the Monarchs are a group of men and a woman who I am lucky to have had the privilege to captain over the last week. Let me talk about this last week: Sunday was a family day of watching American football with my wife, dad, uncle, and pooches. It was a great day and our company noted how great our 3 dogs were behaving and getting around. Monday was a rough day to get up and go to work as we continue to adjust to the time change. I had gotten a text from my wife in the morning that she was concerned about our 12 year old Great Dane. She said she was going to stop and check on him and when she did, I received a call that I can still hear verbatim. As soon as I heard her voice I began telling people I was leaving work for the day. When I got home, our dog has passed shortly after she hung up with me, in her arms. My wife had him since he was a puppy and I've been lucky enough to know him for the last 5 years. To watch another human go through that tough of a loss is a very tough thing to do, especially when there isn't anything you can do to make things overall better. I told the team what had happened and apologized for any behavioral changes that may occur in myself over the week. There was a new void in my life and a constant dark cloud in our home and I didn't know how that was going to affect me and my other commitments. But there was also light in the form of the Monarchs locker room. This team respected my wishes to maintain privacy and offered kind words and indulged me in conversation about various topics to keep my mind off the unfortunate circumstances. I will never forget how this team helped me through a REALLY tough time and that's something you won't see on the scoreboard but I genuinely feel it in my heart. Monarchs, I'm sorry for my performance and look at what a rally we had in spite of my goose egg. You all should hang your heads VERY high! 🦋🤝👏 I'm hanging mine high because as I type this, considering everything that has happened, I still have a smile on my face... ... And I'm still ready for more 🙂 Take care, everyone, and thank you for a wonderful week! "Love all, trust a few, do wrong to none." - Shakespeare 🦊

Oh Ashton Ashton Fox I’m absolutely gutted for both you and your wife. After losing my Lola, my lovely little Patterdale earlier this year I know exactly how you are both feeling and how tough this week must have been for you. Take care mate.

If you check the rules of the Cyder Cup… you’ll see that in the event of a tie, the very last match on the scoresheet is the tiebreaker!
