Reading, in this thread, the disappointment of some designers of great designs which didn’t make it through, I thought you might like to read this. I am playing all the top twenty courses (and have played many other entrants) as a modest recreational player. I also design to an adequate but not, usually, to Tour Worthy level. Amongst the top twenty I have found a course (which I will not name) which I would have been surprised to have seen approved, and a course which is amongst the very best I have ever played in the game! Judging is a subjective exercise!!! If you love your course and have put in the work, many will love it and some may not! The main thing is to keep on enjoying designing your courses - and playing those of others. Did the course you thought was amazing made it to the top 10? Did the one you thought was terrible make it or get cut?

Huge congrats to the Top 10! All very deserving. Some absolute stunners designed by everyone. Good luck!
Side note - La playa del diablo is my second course and first one that I actually took serious. If any of you designers have any feedback to help me for my next course I'd love to hear it. Just shoot me a message.
Thanks for the fun comp! Good luck to the final 10.

Played all the courses in group 2 and wow the judges have a tough job seperating those. Some incredible courses. I'll have to play the group 1 courses, only played one of those yet (Tor). Well done to all the designers.

pretty surprised Mullen County isnt in there, I personally had it in the top 4 in the whole contest. talented_mr_yipley I have endless praise (especially for the first 8 holes which literally are the best in the whole contest imo) and I know a bunch of people thought the same!

Wow — that is some incredibly high praise. Thank you so much, Q. While I’m definitely disappointed to not get into the top-10, I totally get it. There are a lot of crazy good tracks in this contest, and honestly, I took a risk with my environment. I think I captured the real-life look of the area pretty well, but unfortunately that terrain is inherently empty/sparse. I also think the 1000x1000 plot definitely squeezed the routing a tad in spots, but that was totally my choice and I loved the challenge of it. All the feedback I received from everyone in the community was invaluable, and having my second published design end up on a TGC Tour is absolutely proof positive that I’m moving in the right direction. ErixonStone — Thanks for running this contest. It seems like a ton of work and you’ve done an awesome job!

As I said above I have played all 20 selections. In 2 and to some extent a third, cases in the final ten, I found the lighting soooo dark (on Xbox) that, if I were judging, I wouldn’t be able to see enough to appreciate either good or poor design. Do the judges adjust lighting or am I going slowly blind!! I confirm my setting are fine as most courses are no problem to see!
Am I alone in this? On individual course threads most folk, myself included, don’t raise lighting too much as we don’t want to seem critical.

No idea which of the courses you are referring to, but courses look wildly different on PC vis á vi consoles. Textures, planting, lighting, it's wild.
