Looking at the scores across the CC Tours. They are so similar at the cut line for many of the flights. Seems to me that maybe 3 CC flights would work fine. At this point in my CC-I flight, it looks like it may take around a -40 to get a promotion mark. It seems like the swing change likely made no difference in competing on the leaderboard. If I shoot a -10 after 2 rounds I won't make the cut now. Before I wouldn't make the cut shooting E. Yes the Pro swing is less frustrating, and results in better scores for everyone, but no real affect on the leaderboards.

I think the bigger question is > are ppl on Xbox now feeling more competitive after being screwed forever? The scores themselves were going to be relative regardless.

Yes, it is more "fun" to shoot lower scores. But it will wear thin quick when you can't make cuts or challenge for promotion marks.

I think the bigger question is > are ppl on Xbox now feeling more competitive after being screwed forever? The scores themselves were going to be relative regardless. Precisely this. The move was to improve cross-platform competition. Everyone will play better than they did, but some PC/PS players are going to perform lower as a percentage of all players because XBox players are now going to be able to compete. Using this week's CC-I tournament as the reference (at this moment ~1:15PM CT on Tuesday so the cut is not finalized). Participation: All: 95 PS: 55 XB: 24 PC:16 Below cutline (-10) All: 58 PS: 35 XB: 14 PC: 9 Percentages making cut: Total: 61% PS: 64% XB: 58% PC: 56% I'll probably do some data playing after the week to see how it's turning out across the board. But, it'll be limited because it's all hand-jam.

And now compare that to the final results from the last CC-I tournament of last season. Drawing any conclusions yet is premature, but it does look promising that the cross-platform disparity is less. Will have to look at all CCs and Pro Tours with finalized data to see how it pans out in the end.
Participation: All: 56 PS: 32 XB: 13 PC: 11
Below cutline All: 37 PS: 24 XB: 5 PC: 8
Percentages making cut: Total: 66% PS: 75% XB: 38% PC: 73%

I see the point. I’m an Xbox’er and I’m in CC-L. I shot -4 and -3 and I should be well within the cut line. Leader is 14 strokes ahead of me. I did shoot -9 and -7 in my 3rd and 4th rounds. While I did have more enjoyment than playing on Master - maybe I’m only good enough to stay in CC-L and not get promotion points.
One tournament does not quantify that yet but I have had more enjoyment playing which is what the true goal of TGC Tours is about.

It's early days and not anywhere near a big enough sample size, but every leaderboard bar Plat has got Xbox players at or near the top of the leaderboard. That NEVER happened previously. The odd one did well, particularly at the lower end of the Tours, but this seems across the board.
It's basically TGC1 with better graphics and without all the wierd sh%$ that used to happen!

There is a promotion event in week 3 that will move a lot of players up to better balance the tiers. Staff made it so early in the season because of the changes, IMO. Also, there are hundreds playing the qualifying this week. Patience.

Looking at the scores, there's not a lot to distinguish the top results in CC-A from those down in CC-I or so.

Yep, you'd expect to see XBox players do exceptionally well since their scores aren't being suppressed nearly as much as they were for a few seasons. Probably a majority of them should be a flight or two higher than they are, currently.

One of the top Plat players who dominated last season missed the cut and is a PC player. And is a PC player defined as a player who uses a mouse? Or a PC player who uses a controller? Or both? And are there differences in playing on PC with a mouse vs a controller? Also, if a PC player uses a controller is that completely different than someone on console who obviously uses a controller?

I'm not going to attempt a statistical analysis, but it seems many Xbox players are now shooting better than PC players. I assume most PC players use a controller (I do). Maybe move to pro has made xbox easier than PC? I guess that would be ok if there a many more xbox players than PC. Got to look at the big picture I guess.

Xbox does have more players than PC (at least prior to the max exodus last season). I think it's safe to say that the re-balance caused by Pro has propelled many Xbox players back into the mix. It was blatantly obvious that Xbox was getting the shortest end of the stick last season - so now that the tours are more balanced it's no surprise to me that there are more competing at the top of the leaderboards. That was the intention of the change to Pro so it's satisfying to see it play out right off the hop in Week 1. I'd have been a bit worried if it wasn't the case.
