This contest looks like it is shaping up to be amazing. We have had so many good new designers come up in the last year, I can't wait to see what you guys create!

Glad to see the eligibility changes. I’ll be signing up for the Rookie Contest too.
Just have to finish my Parkland Contest Course first!

I might have to get in on this. I've attempted one course before but I visit this site a lot to find courses to play. So many fantastic courses that people are designing. Need to spend some more time in the designer so this will help with focus and give me a goal.

Wait I have an approved course. That means I can’t compete right? Same here, but no - the deadline provided in the OP is what matters I think, not that it WAS approved. (I think) I’m excited for this! There was some discussion of DLs kinda taking over the point of the Rookie Contest, but I’m approaching it differently. I feel like I learned a lot as a green designer with DLs, and now having competed in CC and getting feedback and judging notes, I really now understand more of what I can do in the designer well, and what I can do better. So I’m thinking of this comp as the culmination of taking in all that advice and self-teaching, and observation from established designers to try and really hone this thing I love to do for fun! I think other newer designers should approach it that way too. I don’t think the idea of the rookie contest is obsolete (no pun intended 😋) with the popularity of DLs, I think of this contest as a showcase of all the awesome talent that’s come into this community of late. And damn is there some good talent. On top of that, I think this contest is in good hands and will help all burgeoning designers with a fun and light-hearted contest to really just go all out with the designer and enjoy building! EDIT: also I was planning a new project anyway. Why not enter if you’re eligible and were going to create a new course anyway? No design restrictions, and my ass sure as hell still designs slow, so ample time to flesh out a good idea.

Reading these posts and looking at the ROOKIES, who will be entering is quite daunting, but what the heck could be a good one for me first comp, nothing to lose and surely can only improve as a designer from the process
