Hi all. I just published a course but there seems to be some pretty heavy lag, especially on PS and xbox. It's a very detailed course with some pretty intricate waterfall systems so I was wondering if anyone knows what the main culprit is when it comes to lag. Is it the waterfalls? Rocks? Grasses? The course has gotten some pretty good initial reactions so I would really like to get it fixed. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

For the record, when I published, the object meter was at 94%, memory was full and file size was only 10.7% I've already got the object meter down to 89% but not sure that will fix the issue.

Lag always has to do with three things:
1. Objects that have to drawn on screen 2. Objects that move 3. Objects that have collision properties
These elements require processing power, and are checked every frame. The more that your PC or console has to do between each frame, the longer it takes to refresh the screen.
Elements that don't appear on screen do not have to be drawn or animated. That's why sections of courses experience more lag than others.
EDIT: I should mention that performance can be affected by other background processes that might be running, but that applies less to consoles.

Thanks for the response Erixon, I probably should have taken this post down. I did a little digging and found another thread where you posted roughly the same thing. I went and dumbed down my waterfalls (a few BIG rocks as compared to many small ones, fewer tiers and actual "high falls" assets) as well as removed some superfluous planting and that dropped my meter to about 88%. I've always made pretty detailed courses sans all the waterfalls but still with the object meter maxed out and never had any problems so I'm hoping this does the job. I published a beta which I'll test on PS4 tomorrow. Plays smooth on my PC, for what it's worth. Appreciate the help.
