OK, a little late but I think I can I still get in on this... So I did one and just published it....DL2.5MrWII-MacKenzie. I liked the Pasatiempo lidar course and maybe used a little bit o Crystal Downs to boot...so that's what I went with. Hope it doesn't s*ck! I got 9 holes going, but 8 and 9 still need some work, so this is 6 for the contest, will try to fix up the last 2 to get to 9 soon. Maybe do 18 if its any good! All the ones I played so far are real good, nice job. mattyfromcanada

TGC DL2.5 Devereaux VG65 - Hole by holeFor my entry into DL 2.5 I chose Devereux Emmet, which I’ve included info in this previous post tgctours.proboards.com/post/691396/threadHere is a rundown of the six holes, which will expand to a full 18 and retain the Emmet approach. Yardages are for Green / Red tees: Hole 1 (445 / 421) – Dogleg left par 4 to a pronounced right to left sloping fairway. Players will need to hit down the right side and have the ball bounce down to the middle of left of the fairway. Players can also play an appropriate shaped shot into the slope (ie, fade for right handed player or draw for lefties) The approach will be from a right to left slope into a green that runs left to right, so an appropriate shaped shot will be required. The green feeds toward the stream and shots long or right could find the water. Two putts for a par and run the second hole. Hole 2 (185 / 157) – Solid par 3 with trouble down the entire right side. Pick the right club and hit it confidently. Shots bailing to the left will leave a precarious shot toward the water and sand. Birdies are possible, but so is double-bogies and above. Pin 1 is in the front right corner of the green and will require a precise left to right show for the best chance for birdie. Shots short and right will bound into the deep bunkers or into the creek. Hole 3 (566 / 524) – a dogleg left par 5 that has somewhat blocked sightlines to the green, which was a hallmark of Emmet’s designs. The farther right the drive is hit, the more open the sightlines, but don’t hit in the water or long grass. A fairway wood may reach the green, depending on the wiind, but most times it leaves a short pitch. The farther left the approach is hit opens the pitch to the elevated green. Note that the hole employees hazards that the player must play over, which is in keeping with a firm Emmet philosophy. Hole 4 (452 / 440) - Double dogleg par 4 with additional hazards that require carrying, similar to a steeplechase race. The dogleg can be cut down the right side for the long hitter and reduce the approach distance to a long green that slopes from rear to front. The green is surrounded by “Emmet mounds”, which are found on many of his creations. Miss the green to the right will end up behind mounds or in another set of bunkers. Par is a good score her. Hole 5 (414 / 401) – Downhill, dogleg left par 4 with a creek cross the fairway that will only come into play for long hitters. The creek can be carried downwind, but is the risk worth the short iron in? A fairway wood and wedge is the safest approach to a large, undulating green with trouble down the left side. The majestic trees surround this hole and it is sometimes played in the shade, so read the green well. Hole 6 (201 / 168) – we end on a longish, downhill par 3 to a template green and bunker setup. Emmet avoided many template holes, but especially redans and edens. Hit a high, soft shot to the template green with a bunker showing from the tee, but with another bunker between it and the green. Long shots will find a very deep bunker contributing to difficult up and downs.

mattyfromcanada I know 2.4 won't be judged any time soon, but can we expect to see this one judged at least by the end of the year? No rush... but... maybe we will have a definitive answer this time
