The Estuary Club, by mvpmanatee
This is my entry to the 2021 Challenge Circuit Championship. This par 73 plays to a length of over 7500 yards from the tips, but doesn't play as long as the yardage suggests. The members (contest) play from the white tees, which is about 7200 yards.
The Estuary Club takes inspiration from The Creek Club, in Locust Valley, Long Island. A very unique plot combines 4 distinctly separate environments: marshland, dunesland, grassland, and forest. Both the front 9 and the back 9 touch all 4 environments. This is my 5th course in 2k21 and I am very happy to say that I am continuing to get better.
1: Estuary 2: Hog's back 3: Narrows 4: Eden 5: Bottle 6: Double Plateau 7: Beach 8: Biarritz 9: Switchback 10: Short 11: Redan 12: Leven 13: Knoll 14: Ridge 15: Alps 16: Road 17: Maiden 18: Creek
Some of these hole names might not live up to what your idea of that template is, but I named it that, so suck it.
WhatAboutAmeobi 's playthrough of the course, to save you lazy people from wanting to play it:

I’ve been lucky enough to play the Creek club multiple times in real life. It’s an absolutely beautiful course and honestly a masterclass in golf course architecture. This is certainly an undertaking to try and nail that vibe. Based on the pics you posted— it looks like you did! I’ll try and give this course a go real soon but congrats on the undertaking and doing Creek Club proud!

I probably deviated more than I originally planned on the intricacies of the Creek Club, but I definitely used the templates/boldness of the plot, and tried to mimic a similar flow of land & environment from the forest down to the ocean. Don’t hold my course too accountable on a perfect rendition though!

Great course, Sea Cow. Liked the use of strategy and templates without throwing it in your face. Environment flowed very well. Greens were challenging but receptive, allowed for some fun shots with the slopes. Should play well on the CC tour and in the competition.

The setting and the plot are superb - and I really enjoyed the way the bunkering was done, and the fairways that are bordered with sand as you work your way towards the water.
By far my favourite aspect were the undulations in the fairways and greens, particularly the greens. Was fun to run approach shots in from different angles.
Really well done!

Thanks for the kind words I really prioritized the green undulations as the key characteristic of the property. Glad you enjoyed!

I finally got around to play this course today and was glad I did! It’s extremely authentic to the Creek Club and has many of the same characteristics and even the vistas are really almost spot on. The holes are really well laid out and I enjoyed the design of the greens. The only difference between this course and the Creek is the Creek Club has 3 distinct sections with 6 holes that play similar which helps the flow of the course but here- there are holes inland, dunes and seaside all mixed together. It’s an interesting choice to do that here. I would have loved to see a punch bowl green as the one on the Creek( 6th hole) is spectacular! Other than that, great job!
