Welcome to Cape Castine - finally complete after 50+ failed attempts. My entry into the CC contest.
This course is fictionally set in Maine but takes a little inspiration from the setting of Crystal Downs. It's characterised by fast, challenging greens and subtle land movement on the fairways.
Hopefully, this course will have more strategy and subtlety than my first publish. Par 70, 6701 yards from the green (judging) tees - hope you all enjoy. Remember to set fairways to firm or very firm because of the Highlands bug.
Required elements for judging: Two holes with a centreline hazard (6, 18) Template green complex (15, Lion's Mouth) At least three par fours under 400 yards (3, 8, 13, 16) Total course yardage under 6900 yards (6701)

Gave this one a play last night, good work! Generally thought the course felt very realistic, the only hole I didn't really care for was I think #14. Otherwise I think you're on the right track here, good luck in the contest!

Otherwise I think you're on the right track here, good luck in the contest! Thanks for the play buddy! 14 is gonna be controversial for sure. It's a deliberate blind tee shot and then an Alps-inspired blind second shot. I can see why people wouldnt like that hole for sure.

Good course here. Nice strategic elements and a couple of tough pins to keep you on your toes. All the best for the contest, I’m sure you’ll do well.

Charlie, I'm just going to come out and say that you are a big fat stinkin' liar. You kept saying that your course sucks and it's anything but a sucky course. I had a great round here. I was surprised at the 179 greens but I thought it paired well with the subtle breaks and undulations on the greens. Hole 15 is an absolute stunner. I get that some people won't like 14 but I find it unique and not really all that bad. I'm a little surprised it never got TW but I'm no reviewer. Great job, Charlie!

I think it would have been fairly close to TW but I'm not gonna assume anything haha. 179 greens caused some tough pins on pin set 3 in particular, but I'm fairly pleased with the result.

Great track Charlie! You’re still playing with strategy elements very effectively and nicely. Now we just need to get your ass a better platform so you can plant the sucker! Haha good luck in the comp!

Haha good luck in the comp! Thanks, Tyson! Planting is still annoying but that was still over 65% meter used haha. The strategy is improving for me at the moment too, still getting there though.

Honestly I think you should give drawing out routing and hole designs then working the plot to that, a shot at least for one course. I think it may help that course to have a plan going in and help you in future courses to find a plan you like sooner (and less deleted plots 🤣) just a thought. Keep up the great work!
