Just started on my new project : Hillyshill Walking Club.
It's a fictional design with linksy features.
Screenshot updates below :
My LiDAR project Falsterbo Golfklubb was put on pause due to my IRL work schedule, it will be finished later on as well.
End of October I will also start the RCR design process of Hooks Skogsbanan, the second course at my home club.

First version of the front 9 published. VERY rough first version (I have not sculpted the bunkers as I'm not yet sure which ones I will keep) - Name is: HWCB1

Wow the way that land ripples! Jeez! More pictures please I just played the 9 holes you published, and wow, I love the smoothness of the slopes combined with those jagged rippled textures. Stunning environment. I was wondering if you plan on planting grasses and trees/bush, or leaving it as only heavy rough?

I'm not yet sure about the planting... I like how clean the course looks without anything extra on it... But I did originally plan for there to be a couple trees in some spots... We will see. Starting the back 9 today👍🏼

Going to give this a more thorough play tomorrow but a few thoughts...
- The tee shot on 2 seems forced. I needed to be downwind and hit a 103% drive with a 296 driver to reach the upper fairway. - I'm the president of the par is irrelevant club...but 14 was driver and sand wedge on a par 5 with a 5mph tailwind. - 16 was a driver and PW because I can play up an adjacent fairway. - I didnt love the soft fairways and rough. This looks like a seaside links on rugged ground...let the ball roll!!! - The lighting is too low. Super low dawn/dusk lighting is overused IMO. This course will be even more stunning with the lighting around 25-30* inclination and time around 8:00 or 16:00. It's currently so dark that there are some greens and bunkers which I can't see because the lighting is too low.
Overall, I love so many of these holes and cant wait to go around it again. Keep up the awesome work Matt

About my design method for this course. I first tried to recreate a wild landscape. The challenge I had in mind was to then create a full course with as few changes to the land as possible. "create what you can with what you get".
The results will of course be personal taste... but I will try my best to make a course everyone can enjoy.
Hole no 2 will be adjusted later on but reaching the 2nd fairway should require a near perfect shot (you shouldn't ever be able to reach it into wind) . The back 9 par 5 I made easier on purpose to reward a good tee shot with a great chance at eagle. The comment about playing up another fairway is completely fine to me:) just shows that you're paying attention and thinking outside the box. The lighting I use to check some slopes. Changes to come 👍🏼 thanks for your feedback. Any other thoughts much appreciated!

It is very much laid on the land and I love every bit of it. My commit on 2 is a bit of a nitpick...I would maybe move the tee box up 3-5 yards at most so it doesn't require a tailwind + overpowered, perfect 296y driver to reach the upper fairway. Alright going back in for another round... (and if you want to send me the course file after you're done, I would love to build something on this land one day!)

Stunning! Is this a first course? Not my first course. I have done some original designs and RCR courses. With lidar and 3d elevation maps I've created myself.
