PLAINVIEW QUAIL RANCH EST. 1911HISTORYIn 1911, an oil man named Daniel Plainview arrived in Little Boston with a vision, a vision of oil drilling and quail hunting. After winning over the locals with promises of infrastructure and bread, he purchased the land at quail prices, but had to promise he'd fund the construction of a golf course for the goat rancher's son, Eli. Before long the course was built and the Third Revelation Golf Club opened with a celebratory match between Eli and Daniel, in which Eli beat Daniel 4&3.
Third Revelation Golf Club
Buoyed by his success, Eli left to turn professional and in an act of revenge, Daniel had the course renamed Plainview's Quail Ranch. Years later, Eli returned and the pair decided to have a rematch. This time, Daniel beat Eli 71-80, and celebrated by bludgeoning Eli to death with a sand wedge.
Today the course stands at over 7000 yards and there a four tees from which to play: Blue, Gold, White, Black. There is little difference in total yardage from the four tee sets, due to the greenkeepers not maintaining a set order throughout the course. This allows a different tee set to be used during each round of any tournament that cares to visit with us. It also means that, of our 2 driveable par-4s, only one can ever be reached from the tee per round. The score to beat is 71.
SOME WORDS FROM OUR FOUNDER "Why that's the first place it will lead. Thank you Eli." - on being asked if the new road will lead to the golf course. "I've abandoned my ball!" - on driving a ball into the water on the then hole 18 (now hole 9). "DRAINAGE!!" - on being asked why the course dried so quickly.

Really enjoyed the round earlier. Golf was good and I liked the greens a lot. Well done Adam!

Any course that references “There Will Be Blood” is a winner in my books. Love that movie.
I’ll be checking it out.

Love the theme behind this. The course itself is challanging in spots but always fair. Good job and good luck in the comp!
