Awesome news!!! I can already see the leaderboards changing as those that never play a windy tournament have to face that brutal 15to20mph wind. Really happy to hear this. All the posting about wind waiters and a little belly aching on my part and others has paid off.

Just received clarification back from Anthony. It is a random generated wind that the tournament creator can't set, BUT..... If the tournaments across platforms are all NAMED the exact same -- they have made a change SERVER side to ensure all wind is the same! We are changing up our naming convention this week to make it easier for all of our marshals to get this right moving forward. This is GREAT NEWS!!!! So I have a question. If the wind can be set to lets say 4-8 for a round... can you select the DIRECTION? As I'm reading it the wind speed will be the same but the direction could be different for each player?

People should definitely start practicing playing in wind then! I hope the course creators don't go nuts and decide that this is THE way to make courses more difficult by having 3 of the four rounds 18-22mph. Personally I find anything over 15 mph to suck the fun out of the game. Having to shoot one round like that would be reasonable, but normally you want Saturday to be a true moving day with many opportunities to score low with Sunday to be a bit tougher with more risk/rewards opportunities.

I'm still thinking top guys will still be top guys but at least we'll all be the same so no complaining. This is a nice addition.

Most of the good players will play in most any condition. Some of my best rounds have been when there is a 10+ mph wind as on many holes it really helps you, like helping to stop a long iron shot to a smaller landing area. That being said, it will be nice to know that everyone is now playing under the same conditions and skill will ultimately prevail.

Those are fantastic news!
Can't wait to see how I'm personally going to perform when knowing that all players had the (almost) same conditions to master.

I see Tim is already ready for naming the tourneys properly. Can't wait to see how this works out.

This is an exciting development for sure. As someone who doesn't wind-wait and breaks up my rounds, this can only help me be more competitive.

Has this been implemented now or is it coming in the May update? If it's implemented now does it effect current tournaments and are TGC Tours tournaments named the same on all platforms this week?

One of the best parts of this is you play your rounds when you have the chance to play your rounds, and your conditions are going to be comparable to everyone else. And if you have time to get 9 holes in and come back later... when you come back you aren't facing entirely different winds.
There is so much that is good about this.
Extra strategy as well... say on a 20mph wind day, when it's more about survival than birdies.
Not to mention that playing in some wind is just flat out more fun.
Holy cow, I'm excited for this.
