I have this posted in another thread but wanted to make it relevant.
The way I understood it the tournament creator who sets up the tourney will have the option of picking the wind. The administrators will let the folks know who set these up on each platform what wind they want for the 4 rounds to be. It will vary per Anthony's twitch feed in 3-4 MPH increments plus guts so the winds choices we have will be like 0-4, 5-8, 9-12,13-16, 17-20 for example.
This would just be an example but it would be set up like this
Rd 1 9-12 MPH Rd 2 13-16 MPH Rd 3 9-12 MPH Rd 4 5-8 MPH
Or all 4 rounds could be set up the same. This is just the way I understood it.. I am assuming if this is route we go it would be set up in Tours in game but if we set up the whole tourney lets say in 9-12 winds it could set up as a tournament
One of the administrators could jump in on this if I am mistaken.

there will still be gusts and those could change direction slightly. The wind that is set will be the prevailing wind...

Haven't watched the archive yet. Are you certain on the tournament creator setting the wind? That's kind of a big change from what they had talked about previously. But, it would get around the problem of getting similar winds on each platform for cross-platform tournaments (which would be difficult if they were random).
Happy about this regardless. Can't get here soon enough to be honest.

Along those lines, the tournament creator could look at the weather report in the tournament location area and base the wind settings off of that. So it could be somewhat realistic and not just some random choosing.

Random if can be same on all systems is best I think. If it is settable we are going to have endless complaints of how the wind was set "unfairly" every week...
If it will not be same across systems then HB just ruined what they set out to fix....

We're trying to get clarification on this. We'll update when we hear back.

Just received clarification back from Anthony. It is a random generated wind that the tournament creator can't set, BUT.....
If the tournaments across platforms are all NAMED the exact same -- they have made a change SERVER side to ensure all wind is the same!
We are changing up our naming convention this week to make it easier for all of our marshals to get this right moving forward. This is GREAT NEWS!!!!

I'm guessing it takes the random seed for the wind as the tournament name.

indeed this is great news wonder if caps lock will have an impact? It is case sensitive - we're going all lower case for letters.
