Week 44 takes us to The Motherland and Chuysky Trakt (Tour) from Q . His entry from Russia for the National Treasure design contest. As with any course from Q, there is an interesting backstory and hidden symbols everywhere, check out the course thread if you want to dive into that more, but we are here for the golf this week. Q is also the one who discovered the " tee manipulation" trick, so we are in for using several different teess this week that actually end up all playing a similar distance while switching up the distances between rounds for certain holes. The course has plenty of quirkiness and fun. Starts with a par 3. Has a crazy driveable 4 that is do or die depending on the pin position. And routing that lets scores build pretty quickly in one direction or the other. Would highly recommend to get your scoring in during the first two rounds. Good luck everyone! From the designer: Tucked away between Kazakhstan and Mongolia lies the Altai Republic, an unusual autonomous zone of Russia. Known for it's gorgeous yellow trees in a unique Alpine Steppe environment, this cold, rocky and unforgiving terrain will constantly challenge the player around the course.

Honest opinion…hated it. Didn’t feel like a real course and that’s always my benchmark, I’d much rather play RCR’s or LIDAR courses week after week than nonsense like this. I’ll probably make cut, R3 & R4 I’m surprised I managed to finish. Just my opinion.

To each their own. Glad to hear you played through your uncomfortably well enough to make the cut.
Can I interest you in an RCR / Lidar of one of the best courses in america?
National Golf Links of America (L) is coming to elite in a few weeks!

2nd week here and I am in the running to go 2/2 in missing the cut by one stroke. Went -6 for the front 9 in R2. Went -3 over the other 27 holes. *shrug*
Good luck to all with rounds yet to play!

I’m no longer on this tour. But I played it anyway.Thought the course was very fair and playable. What did they mean about “tee box trick?”
Finished -8 for 2 rounds.Which was maybe the best I played on the elite tour for 36 holes in a long time

I would say watch the video that I linked under “tee manipulation” in the original post. And next time you fire up a course that mentions having the feature, open the scorecard and compare some of the distances of tees. Pretty fun to see when laid out correctly by a designer. Marlowe Heath was the most recent course we used on Elite that implemented this trick. And that designer actually created a tee box to match each pin location and make them more interesting over 4 rounds. So we followed the order he recommended on his thread. But basically, Q figured out a way to make it to where the “back tee” color isn’t necessarily the longest tee on every hole. Very useful for tournaments because it keeps each round fresh on say, par 3s from different angles, or one day a certain hole is driveable while other tees are still deep.

As a player only here I find it awesome that designers can do this!!

This course will definitely be polarising for some... Q nailed the look he went for but it does look very fantasy to some. Hope you Elite scrubs play well NGLA on Elite in a few weeks too? Hell yeah

DOH! And Playa! Which actually saw a driveable 4 play worse the round it had the shortest tees I believe. Which is awesome.

Haven't played for a few weeks due to the game being broken ... Thought I'd have a try this week and it's still broken. That's me done till a new version of the game comes out or we switch to the new EA game

That's me done till a new version of the game comes out or we switch to the new EA game Hate to hear it Gavin, but it is understandable. A lot have been going through the same struggles and it shows. I have been keeping our stat averages all year on elite for Score to make the cut, Score to get top 10, Score to win and the numbers after the swing nerf took a dive for sure. Pre-nerf (32 tournaments) -- Make Cut -12.1 --- Top Ten -34.2 -- Winning Score -43.4Post-nerf (9 tournaments) -- Make Cut -9.6 ---- Top Ten -30.5 ---- Winning score -38.1 ( -2.5) ( -3.5) ( -5.3)

UGH...missed 3 good birdie looks from 8, 12 and 11 feet on the back nine to keep me from winning Elite. After I missed the 8' putt on 17 to get to 1 back and then my drive on 18 found the bunker and I couldn't make eagle to tie for the lead...I decided to play hero ball (which failed). Fortunately I finished with the rare 0 penalty shot 1 putt triple to settle in one shot behind double promo mark territory. I like to think this was saavy handicap management to keep myself on Elite as long as possible (which is where I really want to play anyways).

2nd week on elite and 2nd cut missed! i picked up a demo point in week 1, gonna be scoreboard watching today to see if i can stay one shot above the demo line. pretty sure it's just a matter of enough people who *made* the cut finishing their full 4 rounds so the field size doesn't shrink any smaller.
shrinkage can be devastating
