I see many golf courses in the TGCTour Course Listings. How does a new golf course makes it or be part to this list? Thank you

sroel908, so is a course assessed as "Approved" or "Tour Worthy" right from the start, i.e. it will be one or the other? I always thought a course was deemed as "Approved" first and then after a period of time it would be become "Tour Worthy" once selected by the Head Rangers of each Tour for tournament play. Thanks!

I can't really speak to this with a lot of certainty. Rangers do not determine approval or tour worthiness. I think course reviewers are the ones who determine approval, tour worthy, or not approved status. As a designer myself, I know that I have had courses that are approved and have stayed that way for months, while I have had a course that was immediately marked as tour worthy following submission. I think what you're describing may have been the way it was in the past, but approval and tour worthy guidelines changed a bit in the last few months. At least this is how I understand it.
