This is about a mile away from my house, and I frequently travel down the road that bisects the two areas of this plot. One side of the road, about 130 acres, is a working gravel mine. Let's just pretend it's now abandoned and for sale. The other side of the road, about 100 acres, is natural rolling farmland.
In my head I see the gravel pit being open season for moving as much earth as desired, or simply using the existing land forms as inspiration. On the other side of the road, I imagine trying to find natural holes without disturbing the land.
So the challenge is to take essentially a blank slate and try to make it mesh seamlessly with the holes on the natural land.
I will likely try something here, but my chances of finishing a full release are so slim, I figured I would offer it up to anyone interested, as I would love to see a finished product come out of this. If multiple people want to take it on, well then, we have a little showdown!
Holler at me if you want the file.

Someone else planting and I'm in I'm in if you're serious Sure am. IDK if I'll even stick with this and I have a CC course to focus my minimal planting attention span on. DM will be sent whenever I have file.

theclv24 IDK if I have the time to finish it until August-ish, but I would love just a quick look around the file and see if I can get a routing down, if you don't mind sharing! My assistants axelvonfersen and mctrees02 could do the actual work for me

I just sent files out. Here's some details that I provided to Han that I figured I would put here as a reference point. And then I have some pics below, just food for thought.
1. There's an area in the gravel pit where there seems to be some missing lidar data. Rather than smooth it out, I just filled it with water. To be fair, it does feel like a place where a retention pond could exist in the pit. If anyone is wanting to route something as "as is" as possible, I would not consider it cheating to smooth that area out and have no water. Keeping the water also feels fair to me.
2. Besides the pit, which is obvious, the outlined area is the plot of farmland that feels most like one piece of property to me, like the one that could conceivably be sold together someday. This, of course, is completely made up by me, so don't feel like you need to stick to that area. Do whatever you want to do with any piece of this plot.
3. If you want to look at the plot in Google Earth, this address will get you in the general area: 3825 W. Liberty Rd, Ann Arbor, MI 48103.
4. Naming. If anyone finishes an actual project here and wants to name it something relevant to the site, here are some relevant geographical names. According to openstreetmaps, the gravel pit is called Killins Pit, which is pretty awesome. The physical address would be Ann Arbor, but at least the farmland and maybe the pit would technically be in Scio Township (pronounced SIGH-oh). And the nearby intersection is Liberty and Wagner. That's about it for relevant names, maybe the county name, Washtenaw. There's already a Washtenaw Golf Club in existence though.
5. Here's some quick holes I've dabbled with, but haven't put together a full routing for:
Using that building from an earlier post as a clubhouse location, I have two holes teeing off from there and heading into the pit, maybe like a 1st and 10th hole. Fairway would need lots of smoothing to keep balls from running away forever, but two cool green locations on opposite sides of an abrupt ridge.
From the hole on the right, there's a possible elevated tee heading back the other way for a short 4 curling around the massive mound.
In the same area, possibly as a 9th or 18th hole, there's a possibility here for a par 3 heading directly into another mound, and cutting a green right into the base. I'm picturing that par 3 from Streamsong in my head, but no water.
On the farm side, there's a rolling area where a couple of greens could fit in nice and naturally
There's also a blowout area that could be approached from a few different angles, possibly as a hazard for an approach shot or drive

I know I promised I'd plant for Jives (and I'm still planning on it), but I'd love to get my hands on the plot too if that's possible...?

I think this plot should be sent to 10 designers and they can have a go at it. They will need to keep the terrain as original as possible and we see who comes up with the best routing. it would be like a 1 plot contest
