Welcome to Royal Pines, my entry into the National Treasure Design Contest. This is my first design competition, and am super excited to finally publish this course and see the community reaction to it. My inspiration came some top courses located in Belek, see my thread here Bennyk315 - Turkey . It was a real battle with the object meter down the final stretch, but I just managed to delete the right amount of trees to finish my planting. I hope everyone enjoys this one and am looking forward to see how mine matches up with all of the great courses already released in this competition.

A fun round and a real lovely looking course. From your pictures in the WIP thread you definitely nailed the look too

Fun casual trip to Turkey. Nothing crazy or tricked up, just a nice course. The overcast look was interesting but did think it made everything look a bit flat. But the holes were really good, the course played well, some interesting options off the tee and fairways. Well done.

Thanks scootmcgoot 👍 The grey skies was just a personal preference for me, with the pine trees I had to use throughout the course I hated how the sunny skies made them look almost neon green they were so bright.

I had a blast on this one. Really solid environment. The choices you made for objects, weather, and lighting all played well together for a unique look and feel for this one. I really loved the easier areas directly around pins, but undulations protecting them that had serious effects on proper/misplaced shots. The sculpting was well done, and had some great effects on shots in landing areas. Overall... you nailed the environment... you nailed the design. Props! Good luck in the contest sir!

Fun track with some accessible pins made for a decent score here. The 2nd shot on 11 was great fun with that left tee position. Not sure I understood the centerline bunkers on 13, no real advantage to going right (as opposed to 16 where there's a clear advantage to going right), maybe just for framing purposes? Either way, nice track, good luck in the contest!

Hey man, fellow Turkey entrant here!
Just played my round here and I thoroughly enjoyed it - it was a weird one as I thought I played absolute garbage but shot -4. I was actually -5 through 14 holes before my luck ran out and I made a bogey and a double, before driving 17 and making an eagle. I holed some fantastic putts and hit some great shots, including nearly making an ace on the 8th, but also battled off the tee.
Having looked quite extensively at the courses in Belek for my own project, I can definitely see the inspiration. The tall spindly pines on mulch is definitely reminiscent of those resorts, although I actually think I liked your use of the default heavy rough texture in front of the clubhouse area, instead of the mulch.
The course felt resorty, interesting and definitely scoreable. I liked the style, with meandering fairways intersected by some quirky bunkers, giving plenty of options off the tee. The greens felt a little aggressive at times, as they were often small and undulating, but I averaged 1.39 putts including a three putt double and a chip in, and I felt I had every opportunity to get my ball close so I guess it’s more of a concern about pinnable areas - nothing felt unfair in the slightest.
I liked the view of the clubhouse on (I think) the fifth hole. The routing to provide a view of the resort mid round was cleverly done, and the whole thing felt very cohesive and intelligently laid out. However, the lighting and weather didn’t strike me as being Turkish, although I have very little basis for that opinion.
Not the toughest course by any stretch, but a very enjoyable round. I’d definitely love to venture here for a trip away in real life! Best of luck in the contest, here’s hoping for two Turkeys on the podium!
