Hello everyone, Jim Nance here coming to you today from the CC at Castle Pines bringing you Day 1 action as we go alongside Match 7. This match sees The Brew Crew’s favorite Sith Lord Charles (
deathstar) and his apprentice Leon (
Loftyando) matched up against our lovable Jedi Master Ken L (
jg24kl) and his Padawan Victor (

Ok then, let’s go to the opening hole where we find our match already in progress. The Sith pairing have both made birdies and we now await the Jedi pairing. Ken sinks the birdie putt and now Victor is up for par. It just skirts by the cup and the Monarchs jump out to a quick lead. Never afraid to back down from a challenge The Jedi Strike Back on hole two with Jedi Master Ken somehow draining a 40ft birdie putt to pull the match level. I tell you what Jar Jar, I’m surprised the Jedi were able to pull that off

The match has remained level as we head to the 5th green which has seen the Sith Lord himself as the only one able to reach in under regulation. The eagle putt spins around the cup and stays out. Nobody can believe what they just witnessed. Fortunately, the tap in birdie that was left was enough to win the hole for the Monarchs as the others made par. Well, Jar Jar, let’s get back in our chair and let the rest of the match play out. There are still nine holes to play, there’s plenty of time for the Jedi to mount a comeback
Folks we head out now to hole 11 where I believe we are about to see the Strikers get one back. The putt for Victor drops and they sneak by with a pair of birdies to cut the deficit to 2 up. See Jar Jar, there’s still time

Well let’s see what hole 12 brings. Wow Jar Jar, what a tee shot by Ken. Nearly aced it. That will surely be a birdie for the Strikers. And Victor lands it safely on the green as well. Tricky putt ahead though, will do well to get it within 5ft for the par. And what have we here, a misstep by the Sith? Both players have shockingly missed the green altogether. Just giving the hole to the Strikers here Jar Jar. Monarchs are 1 up as we head to the 13th.
The players battled to a draw on the 13th before the Sith once more stretched out the lead with a birdie from the Sith Lord and the Monarchs move to 2 up with 4 to play. Jar Jar would you please, just get back in your chair

Alright then, have it your way, but you’re going to miss an exciting finish. The players halved the 15th after Leon made an incredible putt to save a bogey. Monarchs 2 up with 3 to play. The players move on to 16 where the incredible occurred. A miracle made for the Jedi. The Sith Lord’s birdie putt sailed by on the edge of the cup allowing the Jedi to steal the hole. Monarchs 1 up with two to play

Anyways on to 17 where we find our foursome dueling on the green. The masters were able to score birdies while their apprentices scored pars. The match heads to 18 with the Monarchs 1 up.
The 18th hole and all it’s uphill glory awaited the golfers on the tee. The Jedi played first and each found the fairway. The Sith Lord and his apprentice followed suit. Can the Jedi pull off the miraculous comeback? Second shots follow suit with the Jedi and Sith Lord landing safely on the green. All three set up for birdie opportunities. The pressure was squarely on Leon and it proved to be too much. The ball landed on the ridge and slowly trickled backwards off the green. The chip back on came up just short leaving a tap in par. The others were able to make their birdie putts giving the Jedi the hole and leveling the match. I told you anything could happen Jar Jar
