It seems that the Gaffer’s recently publicized statement regarding still more transfers this summer resonated with Burton Albion as they slayed the Dragons with one of their best halves so far this season. The Brewers have earned a day off after this one and send their best regards to their midwest basketball brethren tonight.

Tranmere 2nd half
After an average 1st half, Rovers were hopeful of doing something.. But due to a change of weather over the interval, Rovers players went to change their boots... However the kitman was nowhere to be seen as he had 'forgot' to pack the spare studs and stud changer... Let's hope this doesn't affect their performance too much.
65 minutes, and an announcement over the tannoy system... the kitman has been sacked due to him bringing the wrong equipment for the players... they all have the wrong studs in their boots and can't grip the plastic pitch they're playing on and feel like they're on Dancing on Ice.
Their opponents actually felt sorry for them due to this 'issue' and let the Home fans have something to cheer about by letting them score in the final 5 minutes.
Final score
Tranmere 1 - 3 Herne Bay
R3 - 77 / +7 (Adj 71) R4 - 72 / +2 (Adj 66)

Week Seven Round UpIt will be short and sweet this week, not because of any loss of love for PGF, rather my first hangover for eighteen months having been persuaded to visit a pub for the first time since Covid started coupled with the need to get to the course for some real golf in today's sweltering conditions. Premier DivisionJuventus and Calcio remain locked in battle at the top of the table. FutureBuckeye11 had too much for up mup kupen nup whilst cassinochips had just enough to get past Ajax. avjpfc still keeps the top two honest and his Villans maintained the pressure with a comfortable defeat of Giraffe72's beloved Robins. fransslabak retains the merest sniff of a place in the playoff final but was thwarted a bit with the final quarter meltdown against Cassino. Celtic Wolf guided Celtic to a bounce back win against jason755 as crushtastic eased Liverpool past Art Vandelay. All this means that the relegation battle is still any three from six. ChampionshipCarlisle could seal promotion this week after demolishing Barcelona. Riotous has been on an upward curve since his return. mbuenger takes on Hyvinkään Palloseura in week eight after Tombanator benefitted from East Fife walking off the pitch. thetaffman will be hoping the kitman sorts the studs as following Tranmere's loss to sid snott in Herne Bay he faces the daunting prospect of trying to spoil the Carlisle promotion party. SkyBlueBen and his Coventry side picked up the points against Spurs who didn't manage to get home from Tiblisi. We all hope that it is transport issues rather than judicial ones that kept xboxjonnyuk in the Georgian capital. Given that North Berwick is only ten miles from New Bayview there is a rumour that East Fife may turn up to play Coventry in an encounter that may not be scored on goals but rather the number of toys ejected from the team prams. LEFTY79 saw off statelyowl's Dragons and solidified his second place in the table. Sweet FA CupPerhaps as expected Juventus and Cassino make the semi-finals and they are joined but the Championship sides of Hyvinkään Palloseura and Carlisle. The draw will take place once the internal balaclava I am wearing has been removed.

Apologies Greg and Ben for missing last week and I’ve just arrived back home now from my trip and had to be away longer than expected. I was not kidnapped by Georgian mafia or stuck in the 19th hole tavern and it really was work with some pleasure 😄 Copious amounts of Georgian wine was consumed however along with many local delicacies suck as Khinkhali and Khachapuri and the waist line might now affect my swing this week 😂 Again sorry for missing my games and to my opponents!

Be aware of a couple of holes late on that have out of bounds in the exact area you’ll be aiming!

Be aware of a couple of holes late on that have out of bounds in the exact area you’ll be aiming! Played it in the One In Every Pub Society and got caught out on the 16th....that's at Pro level, God only knows what a mess I can make of it at Master

No toys out of the pram from the Sky Blues but very little else on offer. I'm under no illusion I'm not much cop at this level and I obtain very little enjoyment from it. I thoroughly enjoy this little group and regret my lack of thought mid season messing things up. But at the end of the day I doubt it will be much surprise to anyone that I'll be hanging my boots up at the end of the season. While I grind through the rounds I always feel like I should be using the time to play something else, so I should do exactly that....no idea what happened in Round 4. Easy conditions/shorter tees or maybe I play better when I've lost heart!! Onward!!!

Ajax - Man U jason755Oh dear… Ajax bought a new player this week: Berghuis. He is a former player of Ajax’ arch rival, Feyenoord. And it seems the Feyenoord supporters may have gotten to Berghuis and… errr… cut him in half before he arrived in Amsterdam… Round 1: -11 Could have been a lot better, but the Ajax players kept giving Berghuis chances and, obviously, he kept on missing them due to no legs…

Barcelona - Hyvinkään Palloseura Barcelona welcome in Hyvinkään a week after getting walloped by them in the Sweet FA Cup hoping they would at least show up this week. The tempo yo-yo was on their side to start the match as Barca came out firing on all cylinders in the opening 22 minutes. A couple defensive blunders were easily masked by great offense. As the half wore on, the tempo yo-yo turned on the Blaugrana leaving the door open for the HyPS to score before half R1: -8; R2: E; Sharing my round 2 scorecard just to show how crazy this round was haha SkyBlueBen CC has been so frustrating as of late. I’m a bit of a weirdo and even though I’m frustrated I find some pleasure out of trying to figure it out. honeybadger64 I don’t think it matters for handicapping purposes but I believe I’ll officially be down in CC-B starting this week after last week’s awful play

I wanna play like a pro in games!! Not how I would in real life!! To be honest I'm so heavily committed with The Brew Crew I just don't have the time to give this level a proper shot. My driving is generally fine but I lose so many strokes to not getting the tempo right on approaches. I don't seem to have a consistent action and I can't seem to settle into one like others must. So I just end up frustrated AF and wanting to play a different game (I have many!). I'll go again when I have a bit more time.

Juventus come into to the week knowing it is one of the most important ones of the season. A win/draw in league play and a win in the Cup tie will mean that we will be playing for both trophies. Pulling off the Double in our debut season would be a huge honor but work is still left to be done against Aston Villa and Hyvinkään Palloseura this week before we can start thinking about lifting trophies.
Right from kickoff Juve looked like they had their eyes clearly on the prize. The pitch seemed to be in much better condition than the one we were on last week (still not sure how I played so well on that lag last week lol). It didn't take too long for the build-up of play to lead to a corner being awarded after a shot at net from Chiesa got parried away by the goalie. Dybala delivered in a beautiful curling ball to the back post and I'm sure you can all guess who was there to elevate to head it home (R1: -14). The next 22 minutes started off a bit sluggish after the strong start but the final 10 were nonstop action and attacking. It may not have been the most convincing way to close out the half but hopefully enough to allow us to have a lead at the half in both games (R2: -12).
The team knew that VAR was taking its time making sure there were no men offside in any of the scoring chances of the first half but they came back out of halftime anyways. Feeling as though they probably needed one, if not two, more goals to secure their places in the promised land, the Old Lady came out motivated again. McKennie and Kulusevski started to become more involved by dropping back to get the ball before pressing forward. A few nice combinations from the midfield ended up leading to Kulu sneaking in behind the defense and sending a smooth curler with his strong left foot towards the net (R3: -14). Despite feeling as though the play so far was hopefully enough to get wins the team wanted to finish strong and really put the pressure on. Bonucci sends a deep pass forward out of the back to try and catch the defenders asleep. Ronaldo brings it down cleanly and ends up 1 v 1 with the keeper. He sends a screamer towards the top corner hoping that this will seal the victories (R4: -15).
Good luck to both my opponents this week!
Fino Alla Fine

Ajax - Man U Not sure I like what Berghuis has brought to the Ajax game… He’s an exciting player for sure but also erratic. He creates lots of chances - but on both sides of the pitch!
