Barcelona - Carlisle United Barcelona welcome in the Championship leaders this week. Koeman was hoping to build off the momentum of last week and perhaps move into a playoff position. This was not meant to be. Barca were abysmal barely managing to string two consecutive passes of any distance. Koeman had no answers for the Carlisle attack. It was an all around disappointing performance R1: +2; R2: +7; R3: +5; R4: +2 One step forward last week met with 3 steps backwards this week…

The second half between Ajax and Cassino was a tense back and forth affair, with neither side able to make much headway into the attacking zone. Until suddenly every player for Ajax ran off the pitch clutching their stomachs. Sounds of distress were heard from the toilets of the Ajax locker room as the Azzurri tapped the ball into the abandoned Ajax goal.
An investigation is ongoing, centered around the Italian meringue offered to the Dutch side at halftime.

A week that will never be forgotten, culmination of an excellent tournament for England, and for the Carlisle fans a win against Ajax and Barcelona in the same week! surprisingly tough week on the pitch for Carlisle but it appears their opponents (and most other teams) also struggled. The final quarter saw some steady play, just two late tackles and no surprises which minutes they were in, both resulted in giving the opposition a free shot at goal. rd4 -5

Pixel Golf Football S3 - Championship, week 7: Double Trouble, act 5: The Game Strikes Back, hard
More two fixture match weeks for this unassuming team. Something just feels a bit different about this week.
League: East Fife @ Hyvinkään Palloseura, first half
A lot of excitement was in the air for this rematch of a close cup fixture from two weeks back. If this was ever going to top that one, then that would have been a outright miracle. Game starts unassuming with a lot of uneasiness in the air for some reason. The home side strikes first but then a shock scene ends up happening. Players from the visiting side just kick the ball back into play from the center and walk out from the pitch, in protest we're guessing here from the writers box? We're not sure what the protest is for, but the score is either 1-0 or 2-0, depending on if the kick to a completely empty net counts for anything. More updates as they come, but looks like a forfeit victory for now.
Sweet FA Cup, quarter finals: Hyvinkään Palloseura @ Barcelona
We now go live to Spain and Camp Nou, where a matchup of utter ridiculousness is taking place: a juggernaut of world football is hosting a bunch of part timer amateurs from Finland. And, umm... those world stars sure are taking this matchup with the seriousness they think it deserves, and that is by not even trying. They probably thought they could get away by playing with the same intensity they can take practice with, but we are giving them a surprising stomping currently. Even though our side isn't starting with anything great, we're still doing enough to plant the opening goal and set the stage for something grand once more. (Round 1: -2, 68)
(Note: 2 eagles, 1 of those being a 2 footer miss for an ace-a-tross, 2 birdies, 2 bogeys, 1 double bogey for just a 2 under round... WTF)
And just like that the lightning strikes twice, the game goes to 2-0 to the visitors and they have just boosted their intensity, hitting the opposition hard. We're just 45 measly minutes away from doing something utterly unthinkable, both to the writer and to the betting sites all over the world: we're that close to going through to the semi finals of this prestigious cup! We didn't even think we'd make it through the damn preliminary! (Round 2: -8, 62)
Also, to Greg, not just because I happened to be selected as your opponent this week but also because I can relate to what's happening in your game: having read through what you've gone through this week and beyond, I feel your every word. I too have just stuck through a lot of things, from the first time I struggled aimlessly while I was hacking away in CC-J, to my playoff meltdown week of S2, to all of the bad rounds I seem to get out of nowhere anywhere else but on TGCT societies. I too have asked myself "why do I keep doing this?", and I feel your pain. I too could notice differences between the local practice round and round 1 of the society. My scores weren't affected much but could definitely tell I was struggling at times playing the actual round. And I play with low settings, meaning I should have the least amount of possibility to experience anything odd or anything off for that matter. I can't convince anyone or anything to stay or leave since it's up to them and I thus won't even try to sway you one way or the other, but I understand the decision you've made since I could have done that too when I was exactly in your shoes. I decided to just keep hacking away and it has paid off somewhat for now, but you do what you feel makes you the most happy. If that's the way to do it, then that's it. This has been one of the reasons I'm even still in CC at this point, if I had nothing to do than shoot some scores and hope for like a top 40 finish every week and move nowhere while I'm at it, I'd have probably quit or moved to Pro and the Beer League, since that serves the same purpose really. I just want you to know that I'm glad that you reached out to me for Season 2, since these side events and things have really saved a lot of my interest and desire to keep me going, at least on Master level. Thanks again man, no matter what happens down the line as this season draws closer to the end.

I just want to make things clear to all involved.
My decision to forfeit all of East Fife's remaining rounds is simply that. I will reassess things in a couple of weeks as the season draws to a close. As with most of the shenanigans that have gone on in the game in recent months I suspect that this may be transitory.
I still love Pixel Golf Football and I recognise that it has for some been the reason to persist in a game which doesn't always deliver the bang for the buck people expect. I am still spinning the hamster wheel behind the scenes. There will be all the usual updates and reporting that the group deserves and I am mulling over alternative ways of running things if it turns out it isn't just a surge in people playing Divot Derby on Eric's courses or internet overload in my street.

Lol Greg. I notice Eric seems to have been pretty quiet on the forums recently.
0-2 again, sigh. Second half has kicked off. Bit more consistent but struggling on the back 9 to make any headway. Third round 64. I think thru 3 rounds I'm -12 on the front and -1 on the back.

3rd Round 66 (-4)
As we start the 2nd half both teams are cancelling each other out, shots by Ajeti and Rogic have been answered back with efforts by Rashford and Pogba at the other end. As the clock ticked by Celtic got more control of the match but can they make it count with a goal?

Herne Bay weren't sure if to up their game or not while waiting for Tranmere to make an appearance, so they played the same as the start of the match Rd 3 +2 probably allowing Tranmere a chance of a goal

Tonight in the real world Celtic faced off against Giraffe72 Bristol City in a pre-season friendly. In the Pixel Golf Football Society we have managed to draw all 3 matches we've played against each other, so the score in tonight's match was unsurprisingly a draw.

Tranmere have done their usual of starting very slow out of the blocks and are looking like a very tired side... Their warm weather training camp up in West Kirby has obviously had more of an effect than expected in their bodies.
R1 - 74 / +2 ( Adj 68) R2 - 73 / +1 ( Adj 67)
I can sympathise with what people have been saying about the game. It feels like at times that it's a chore to play, especially if, for me, I'm playing on my own at 11pm UK time.
I have given up on having my scores mean anything in relation to TGC Tours and play these rounds specifically for Pixel Golf only, as due to the huge disparity playing on the xbox has, even a disparity between my OG Xbox 1 and the Series S/X, means that I will never be competitive and wil be lucky to make a cut, even at my current high level of CC-H.
I need to retune my club set to be more forgiving, my putting is horrible currently and I need to try and hit 100% power, as I am consistently 103 / 104% with the odd 105% thrown in, which makes my margin of error drop by like 50% which then leads to fast / slow tee shots

Yeah I meant to say that was happening! I think it's the first time we've ever played each other, apart from Pixel Golf Football obviously. Lol, another draw!

Week Seven - Midweek Round UpI woke up with a very strange feeling today. For the first time in two and a half years I had been removed from a CC leaderboard for not completing two rounds by the cut deadline. Yeah, whatever, on with the Pixel Golf Football. Premier DivisionFutureBuckeye11 continued to do what Juventus do and has completed a regulation 3-1 win over F91 Diddeleng. This was the same score as their cup meeting last week but up mup kupen nup has pulled the Diddymen out of the relegation battle for now. Every Friday evening I have a friendly game with fransslabak on the PS4 and mostly have to endure losing three or four pivotal holes and most of my virtual coinage to him. Perhaps after suffering a round four collapse against cassinochips, which saw Ajax snatch defeat from the jaws of victory, he might be slightly more sincere in his commiserations to me in future - yeah right!. Elsewhere Celtic Wolf has Celtic ahead in Manchester after jason755 had the sort of start that might have sent a lesser man to Beachy Head. avjpfc has Villa on a bit of a Euro hangover but it is still enough to be leading Giraffe72's Robins 2-0 at the break. The Satellite delay from the Southern hemisphere means that literally anything could be going on in Soweto. ChampionshipCarlisle have Riotous at the wheel and their bandwagon keeps gathering momentum. They were too strong for an out of sorts mbuenger and his Barcelona outfit who will take heart from the news that Messi is staying and will take lower wages. It will be a bit of a struggle on 300 grand a week but his wife has googled where to find the local Aldi and Lidl, so the children will have food on the table. Tombanator just has to finish his fixture against East Fife to pick up maximum points, good news for one of this season's bottom feeders. Herne Bay lead at Tranmere and sid snott will look to cement a top-half finish but thetaffman may still have something to say about that. xboxjonnyuk may still be lost in Georgia or more likely incarcerated after 20 cans of cider, grams of Columbian marching powder, a flare up his jacksey and a failed attempt to 'jib' his way into Wembley last week. Anyway SkyBlueBen has made a tentative start against Spurs. It is a similar story for the Stately Dragons. statelyowl has been his usual inconsistent self but awaits news from the mid-west as LEFTY79 has yet to report. Sweet FA CupTo absolutely nobody's surprise, Carlisle took full advantage of whatever went wrong with Ajax at the end and progress to the Semi-finals. Similarly, Juventus saw off Art Vandelay's Pirates and these two could meet depending on the draw. Hyvinkään Palloseura hold a 2-0 advantage over Barcelona at the break and the mist has yet to clear between Spurs and Cassino.
