Pixel Golf Football S3 - Championship division, week 2: Hyvinkään Palloseura @ Leeds United, second half
The rain continues to fall hard as the players make it back to the pitch. The quality of the game isn't impressing any more than in the first half by the looks of it. After a few more botched attempts at making shots count (a quad on the 7th with 2, almost 3 water balls), the Finnish side is getting a few shots close to target and one of them finds the way in! We're going up 2-1 in this chippy game against a tough side heading to the finish, can we hold up? (Round 3: +1)
The answer is no. The rain has made the pitch a slip and slide by the end and our squad isn't very well versed in these conditions. A slip up or 10 in stoppage time (a 10 on the 18th) gives Leeds the equalizer and the points are shared this week. The boys leave with their heads hanging down, they had a good shot at all 3 points this week and that one massive screw up at the end will add to their nightmares going into next week. (Round 4: +10)
On a note, confirmation of my demotion to CC-E since that is going to affect the handicap. Almost escaped another week but being tied with a big enough group was my downfall. Going to see if I can slow down the curve from here and if not, that's just fine and dandy since I just gotta find the spot I'll belong to at some point!

Certainly been a strange week. For the first Saturday I remember I’ve actually climbed the LB as players finish off their rounds rather than sinking down it.
In other news had a quick look at next week’s pitch (at Pro level) and it concerns me. I’ve already identified the ruts that will trip my players up. As sure as night follows day….

Herne Bay sh!t themselves again, this time it started on hole 2 , never made the green every shot a fast water ball . Spent rest of the round sh!ting, not nice playing with squishy pants. Score something like +27 for Rd 4. Bay manager can't be bothered to look up score card it smells bad.
Probably the worst Rd since starting playing 2K21, we won't be setting foot on this pitch again

Unfortunately we are all playing with Asda own brand football boots and one of those imitation balls that never goes where you think it will when you hit it. |

Luckily for Burton, our kit man was prepared and had 11 extra away kits ready for matches like this. Not sure if it was the fresh new linen or the tongue-lashing from JFH at half time that led to the strong second half start (R3: -8, R4: -3) but the Brewers will take the result.

Looking to capitalize on the momentum built from last week, the Azzurri got to the pitch early and boy did those early birds ever get their fair share of worms. The Aston Villa keeper is going to have to stand on his head to keep a clean sheet in the first half in this one because the Italians are coming in hotter than a triple shot of espresso.

Very surprised my score has hung on to not one but two green ticks last week. I guess those opening rounds plus that little flurry of birdies on the back 9 in round 4 was enough. Kinetic is my holy grail this season, and I'm questing. I'd love to reacquaint myself with the best scheduler on these tours. One good week...
I hear we've got slower greens this week? Scratch that, I'll be happy to hold on to what I've got!

Inside Celtic Park both sets of fans joined together to sing a poignant version of You'll Never Walk Alone in support of Christian Eriksen.
Celtic seemed to find it hard to concentrate on the match and offered little going forward, Liverpool on the other hand knew the best way to move on is just to go out and play football. Salah created an opportunity for Mane who clipped the bar with a clever chip. Celtic managed a foray forward but Forrest's mazy run ended with a weak shot into Allison's arms. Liverpool created another chance with Henderson shooting wide before Mane managed to beat the offside trap but will he be denied again?
