I've researched a few free video editing programs to get started with. I'm thinking about doing a flyover video for Meadowbrook, mostly as practice for other things down the line. What are other people using?
Anyone can answer, but since they have the last two videos I've watched, I'm going to tag b101 and Heisenberg in hopes for some really good answers!

Sadly, it’s Adobe Premiere Pro for me as I get access to it through work. I think gdog might be worth tagging as well.

Im not ashamed to admit that I pirate a lot these days, so many pieces of software are "subscription based" nowadays and I just dont think I could stomach shelling out hundreds of dollars every year to CONTINUE to use the same software ive always been using.
OBS (Open Broadcast Software) or Nvidia Shadowplay make for good recorders
I use Vegas Pro 16 but in terms of free options, I guess it depends on your level of experience with film editing tools? Ive heard good things about "VSDC" but it has a steep learning curve, also a couple of video editors have "free" versions that just allow you to splice and do basic transitions if that's all you're looking for

I'm the same as Q. I've used Sony Vegas for years (also have Vegas 16) and can't fault it. The better change for my videos has been not using OBS and using the Nvidia capture that comes with my card - so much better quality and easy to use. I pretty much self taught everything and there's so many tutorials on Youtube, that it really is easy to pick up. If you need any further help at all though, please don't hesitate to ask.

Appreciate the responses guys. I definitely will have a learning curve to overcome. I used Final Cut Pro in college to produce some documentaries, but I mostly self-taught myself how to use it, and not really that well. I haven't done any editing in the 15 or so years since, unless you count editing basketball game film or compiling highlight videos (I don't).
I'll probably stick with something basic for now. The goal, hopefully, is to need something more powerful in the future, but I'll cross that bridge if and when I get to it.

On the PC I press Windows-Alt-R to record my youtube playthroughs... To edit I use free tools to cut and join.

I've been using ShotCut and I just downloaded HitFilm Express. HitFilm seems complicated, but it can do a lot of visual effects.

Hi everyone. Any advice for the best method to create good quality video using PS5 ? Ive tried editing in Share Factory Studio, but the quality is ordinary. Not sure if the poor quality is due to the PS5 or Share Factory. If anyone else has had success using PS5 Id be grateful for any advice.

Related question… any of you using the free roaming camera on PC?… are you shooting footage in this mode?…. And if you are you able to use a controller to fly around… or just the keyboard? Thanks
