We are up to week 35 now on elite and this week is a treat of a course at Taliesin Golf Club by rjwils30Rob is, in my opinion, the top designer in the community. He is always able to marry strategy in with his environments so well and this course is no different. I think this course will offer a great challenge for everyone and give those of us who are also designers here in elite something to strive toward. Good luck! From the designer at tgctours.com: Located in a desert box canyon bisected by a river Taliesin (Tally-esin) Golf Club is a dramatic out and back layout that flows up canyon walls and across the river. The topography makes for some challenging side hill lies into the greens. Controlling the ball roll with shot shaping will be one of the biggest challenges. Have fun.

Judging by the scores I'm guessing no but did anyone else have major tempo problems on this course? I'm on PS5 and played my warm up round in the CC society (normally what I do before a tournament round) and everything was fine, hitting my normal "close to perfect" tempo's and everything. Had maybe 2 short game shots that didn't go my intended distance thanks to a fast swing. Went into this event immediately after and from the get go every single drive was red fast, and most irons longer than 8 iron too. That of course carried into the short game so pitches, flops, and splashes were going maybe 60% of the distance I was expecting. I even hit a shot or two that should have been a very slow (I started the downswing but then stopped pushing forward, sort of like taking a practice swing and accidently pressing forward which has ALWAYS resulted in a very slow) but last night even those were registering fast.
Sorry I can't say anything about the course/design but I was too busy raging to take any of that in. I actually had to turn off the PS5 at I think hole 16 or so. I was I believe +6, or higher, and getting to the point of chucking my controller across the room.

I was I believe +6, or higher, and getting to the point of chucking my controller across the room. I play on PS5 and I didn't really notice anything, but I also wasn't paying real attention to the difference. I usually take practice swings on the first couple of holes to get a feel for the tempo of the round. It seemed fairly close to normal to me during that period than on like hole 3 I didn't have to take them anymore. If things seem really off, I would restart the game and see if that helps, and if not try to recalibrate. I was struggling with tempo after both patches, but once I recalibrated it went back to normal. Good luck! Every week I say the courses and set up can't get better, but this is top notch once again. Love the strategy involved and having to hit your shots, utilizing the slopes to get good looks. 1 eagle, 15 birdies, but 6 bogies have me at -11 after two. Hopefully a good weekend can get rid of that last pesky demotion mark!

Not been right since the recent update. My whole game has gone to pot now 😂 red fasting everything, especially on this VERY tough course. I’ve gone from back to back top 10s in kinetic to a +3 on my elite debut. Might take a week or two off because I think I need to reset a bit. (Or they are a bit more forgiving in the next update)

This was quite the test! I was struggling with temp throughout, but I came to the last hole at -1 with the cut looking like being -3. Ripped a 3-wood in to 4 feet. Waved to the crowd. Chat went from bored to mildly interested. 69-70 for -3 heading into the weekend.

After my tempo rage quit I finished up my first and second rounds last night. I completely restarted the game and recalibrated on the range before doing so which helped out a ton. After the calibration I hit maybe 10 drives on the range and all but one were perfect tempo. I think in the remainder of the opening round and through the first 11 holes of second I went 5 under to sniff getting back to even par and maybe even make the cut with a good back 9. Then the red tempo came back from out of nowhere on hole 12 and I promptly made 3 bogies to negate my grind. Restarted the game again and had 2 birds in the last 3 holes to end up shooting -2 in the second round but combined with the +4 opening I'm sent packing early again. Back to scratch in regards to my promo points after the last system hiccup where it gave me extra and I was sniffing a Plat promotion, haha.
Took in more of the course and design in the second round. Super nice course though some of the fairways are a little too tricked out for my liking. I hit a few drives to near the top side of the fairway (landing within 5 yards of the rough line) and still ended up rolling into the rough bottom side. More practice would have helped me in that regard to know where to really lay back and try to find a more level area for the ball to land on. With the sloping fairways and big elevation changes everywhere it was definitely one of the toughest courses I've played in a TGC tournament. If my tempo hadn't gone haywire multiple times during play I'd have really enjoyed the struggle but hitting more red fasts/slows in these 2 rounds than I had in total since the red nerf a few weeks back was extremely frustrating.

-2 was all you needed to make the cut this week. By FAR our lowest cut line of the year (Previous lowest cut was -7 at Avery Fields in week 3 and Cookridge in week 11).
Wild world we live in with this new swing. Good luck out there fellas. Don't break too many controllers.

Tough track this week coupled with the worst bad tempo spells I've ever had equals double demo marks. +10 after R2 makes me sick to my stomach. Excuse me while I curl up in a corner with "Everybody Hurts" playing on a loop. Hopefully I get these tempo issues resolved for next week.

I absolutely loved this course. I managed to shoot under par in all 4 rounds but it was a grind to make that happen. Managed to finish -19. More than happy with that since this was my first week in Elite.

Played rounds 3 and 4 today. Shot 63 in round 3 and either 68 or 69 in round 4. Can't remember. Ended up either -13 or -14 which I suspect will be middle of the pack. Still happy to have made the cut. Was +2 overall after 11 in round 2 and played the last 7 in 5 under. Nice to be back after the Plat grind.

I had an ace on the 11th on my 4th round. Had it not dropped it was probably 30 feet past, I may have let out a little yelp of joy...

Pretty solid week, loved the golf course, finished just shy of a promo mark. However, I decided to go ahead and shoot -41 in the promo event so it looks like I am heading to Platinum. I look forward to seeing all of you guys again when I return in about 3 weeks time!
