hey folks! Sorry to have to do this, but I'm not going to be able to submit my 2.3. Things got busy - in fact I'm going to have to take a step back from design in general. I'll still be around, mostly on Twitter, a bit on the forums. I'm waiting for this week's TGC results to finalize before hopefully sharing some pretty exciting news on the playing side of things, which I'll continue to be heavily invested in. Looking forward to seeing what you all came up with and I'll be sure to give 'em a play and some feedback if I have any! I don't check the forums that often so if you're on Twitter hit me up scottiewalnuts and I'll be sure to follow back

mattyfromcanada I rushed to post on the deadline that my course was published, but wanted to tag you here too. DL2.3 VG65 is published.
I had to rush this weekend, due to friends funeral and other commitments. Planting not close to done, but didn't want to bow out after a lot of work, ripping out, work, etc. Getting the plot right was by far the most time consuming, but worth all the effort. Unfortunately, I didn't get to put the time into the holes I wanted to, but glad to enter anyway. Note: Please play the course with greens at Moderate speed and all other defaults are fine.

mattyfromcanada since all entries are in, can we get a hint at the next contest? Chances are I'll be looking on again dammit, miles behind on the CC plot and will need to focus every bit of design on that course.

mattyfromcanada . Published as MJM DL2.3 Quarry Looks like I won't have more time to mess with this before the deadline so here it is a few days early. Decided to go with Merion with a bit less manicured environment. Also tried to adjust the routing to use as much space as possible around the quarry. Land movement/elevation created from hole flyovers, hole-by-hole pictures, and google earth data. Hole 1: Teeing off near the original 16th tee gives a familiar first look at the quarry. Tees moved up slightly for visibility. Instead of crossing the quarry with your second shot, play up the hill to a green now sitting near the former 15th tee. The false front from the 16th green was replicated. Hole 2: Tee off next to the quarry, play along the property line with OB right. The green sits in a site formerly occupied by the first fairway. Hole 3: The only hole to not play from, around, or to the quarry as well as the only par 3. The green sits near the former first tee so now diners get to watch you hit a nervous approach. Hole 4: Playing back up the hill to the quarry, the tee box is located adjacent to the former 18th green but plays more in the direction of the former 16th green. The new greensite takes the place of the old 17th tee, with the land around the old 16th green and bunkers providing interesting lies and options for bouncing the ball toward the green. Hole 5: Tee box sits between the old 17th tee box and 18th fairway. Fairway begins just in front of the old 17th green and extends up onto the former practice area and driving range. Hole 6: Heading back toward the quarry from the driving range, blind tee shot is a tribute to the real 18th. Green sits between the old 16th fairway and old 17th green site up on a quarry ledge. Hope you all enjoy. Looking forward to checking back in next week to see how many entrants we end up with. Best of luck to those still working. I'm scared. You're in my CC group and unless I make something amazing I ain't got a chance

Also, apologies for not getting the judging done yet, life threw a lil wrech at me last week (everything is fine) so I'll try to stream the DL2.3 playthroughs early this week. Hopefully tomorrow (Monday).

New contest will be announced in a few hours. #reducereuserecycle Predicting small plot, holes using the same greens (six holes/three greens) and must have at least 100 trash bins along the plot. Am I close?
