Greetings all, Recently started a new project, my first on PC (really enjoying it on PC BTW, I only did one course on Xbox but definitely preferring the PC). I wanted to do a seaside links, something Scottish-inspired. I've done about 6-7 holes and started playing around with some planting ideas, but was hoping for some advice on planting style from more experienced designers that have done this type of course, i.e grasses and bushes used, techniques, etc. Any tips anyone can share would be very welcome and appreciated! Here are a few screenshots of some of my progress so far: 2nd green looking down the beach toward the lighthouse. Holes in the background are 4, 5, and 13 10 green looking back toward where the clubhouse will be eventually. Looking back at the first hole over number 2 tee Looking from the tees on 3 (left, drivable par 4) and 13 (right) Par 4 4th hole fairway in foreground and green Feedback and advice welcome! TIA. Best, Eric

Looks great so far. Can't tell if bunkers are visible from the tees though. Looking forward to test playing when you publish a beta.

I'm hoping to have a beta out at some point soon, but real life is intruding lately so not sure when that will be. I have been really trying to concentrate on sight lines and framing on this project so you can see most of the bunkers from all the tees, altho like any good links a few of the bunkers are intentionally blind from certain tees . Trying to be strategic with those for sure tho.

Hey Eric,
Been meaning to comment on this for a while, but the paying job has taken all of my time as of late. Planting links can be really tough to get right. I've seen a few really good ones, but having trouble locating the threads for them. I recently did links in Balley Marrey. I went heavy on the planting with high grasses, and I think it works, but I have seen better. I'll keep looking through the threads and post again if I find any of the ones I'm thinking about. Good luck.
Peter

Peter Hi Peter, Thanks for the comment, funny you should mention that, I remembered Balley Marrey from when you had it in beta, went back and played it a couple days ago for some inspiration. I like how you did the grasses, I am trying a similar approach. Here are a couple new progress pics with some planting started, as always feedback and comments welcome! 10th green: 1st Green: 3rd green foreground, 11th green background 3rd fairway looking toward green 11th green: 11th fairway looking toward green: 11 tee: 1st fairway 1st green: I have all 18 holes in place now but only planted in one corner of the course, hence all the pics of the same holes. After I do a little more planting and some clean up I hope to have a beta out in a week or so.

Let me know when you're beta is ready and I'll try to have a round. More good links courses is always a good thing

Hi crossers, thanks for checking in! I actually joined up for the CC design contest so I put this on the back burner for a bit while I work on that. I am planning on circling back to it after I get my CC course completed though.
