Short version: Contest field will be determined by lottery, signups will be open until the field is determined, sometime around June 1st. You can start your course immediately upon signing up, and the course submission window will be August 1st-August 30th. Starting now does not guarantee a spot, however we will likely need alternates so if you do not make it into the main field you can still sign up to be an alternate to fill in for vacated spots. Courses should be designed for CC difficulty, and should include 4 of the required elements listed in the info thread.

No way I'm not in on this. Username: cd06 Platform: Switch Can't wait for this one  As far as I see myself as a designer, I think I fit into pool 4 lol. I have one six hole course from Design League 2.1 that was fortunate enough to come in the top 10, and a WIP for National Treasure that I haven't finished. And that's about it  But I'm looking forward to this! |

I'd love to join if you guys will allow it. I'd be better suited for the Rookie design contest, but itching to enter something on the design side. For what it's worth, I've designed 4 courses between TGC 2019 and 2K21, and only have had 1 approved for the database.

And that's about it But I'm looking forward to this! You'd definitely be in pool 3, possibly even 2. Pool 4 is reserved for people with literally zero previous experience. I wanted to use Design League as a bit of a path into the contest field, as it's a great way for newer designers to try it out and get their feet wet in a way that's fun and requires a little less time commitment. I wanted completely new designers to have an opportunity to enter, but the biggest problem is that the vast majority of of them will lose interest and quit without ever finishing anything, meaning the spots they'd occupy would be going to waste. Hence the emphasis on design league entries, and using that as a criteria to get into the pools with higher chances of making the field. The folks who have already done a design league contest would be far more likely to finish. |
