Dude to the shrinkage of the perfect zone for anything over 100% I'd suggest gaming the Yellow Hogan's as they hlarebthe best distance control irons in the game. I've been using them since day one.

Or just set up for one polling point in the white zone with fast-ish tempo that allows you to get perfects with 102/103/104/105 % on all shots... thatโs what I have done since day one and I will just keep playing like that because itโs how I like to play. Iโm just not the edgy type, I guess...
Yes, I know, not the approach propagated around here these days, but nobody can stop me playing like that! ๐๐๐

Have a look at this thread page 102: tgctours.proboards.com/thread/25134/xbox-users?page=102Clear explanation by cseanny there. He's also posted some videos on other types of calibration but don't go that route, stay away from the edges...

This was posted in the Xbox thread in the clubhouse, however, it is tempo related and could impact which clubs people choose so I'll re-post it here:
I wanna make 10 accounts to give you 10 more likes! Imo this will be very strong for PC players!! More on that in a sec. Xbox, the increase in perfect is extremely marginal so I'm not sure how it will affect you guys! PS4 wired:Drivers: 1st input point 2nd input point- 295: Perfect @100% and barely Red 101s. Greys @100% and below only. - 291: Perfect @100% and medium+? Red 101s. Greys @100% and barely Red 101s. Woods: 1st input point 2nd input point- 245: Perfect @ All 101% and below. Greys @100% and barely Red 101s. - 243: Perfect @ All 101% and below. Greys @100% and barely Red 101s. - 241: Perfect @ All 101% and below. Greys @ All 101% and below. The 291 has a ? mark next to medium because it's hard to gauge precisely. I just know that I struck many, Many more perfects with 101s than with the 295. If we create a scale of 101.001 to 101.999, my best guess is that, with the 291, 101.001 - 101.7?? are perfects. The closer you get to 102% the less likely your 101% will be perfect. The 241 looks strong, as you'll have to reach the 3rd input point to lose +30y now. Now then, why strong for PC players (all!), and fwiw, especially for low dpi users? On PS4 the transition at the top of your backswing comes quicker, much quicker!, than on PC. This means PS4 people will firmly and clearly be landing in the 101 zone with most shots. PC!! You guys can get 98-100% very, Very easily imo. In order to get 101% in PC you literally have to pause at the top.

Not sure if this is a tip or not, but I've always played shots in the 95-98% range with my irons and wedges. Before the patches, the intentional grey slow in that range was my go-to for having something land softer without lofting the club more. After the patches, it seems that even the slight grey slow is more penal than before but still helpful to use at times. Anyway, I do think getting consistent with the near-full shot is super helpful for consistent ballstriking. I've even started doing this with my driver on rounds that I can't seem to find the right tempo, and it helps with keeping the ball straight off the tee - and it's worth the slight distance loss IMO.

Also, I'm a firm believer that you have to be able to play intentional grey slows and grey fasts at the top level. If you can't, you're at a disadvantage. Practicing for these instead of just perfects will leave you better off in the long run. If you can learn the feel for hitting both of these, anything in between is a perfect and will be easier to find. In time, you'll develop more control and get more comfortable calling upon a grey fast or slow in tournament play without thinking about it.

I was having the red fast or slow on Xbox, but feel like when I slow down my backswing and finish the backswing it works better. I do get the occasional fast/slow but not as often. Sometimes the slow I know is me trying not to go too fast.

Sounds stupid but make shurr you swing through the ball with your stick. You will get more perfect shots. No hesitation one slow smooth motion through the ball

I don't care about my tempo. What I want is my intentionally incomplete swing to work. I have not made a cut on beer league since the update.
