sandsaver01Finished up the final rounds today. Very fun course but had a common theme of my tempo going crazy on the back nine. It’s like I’m playing two different games. Might be me but just can’t figure out why every round on the back my tempo goes to hell. 🤬 -5, -9, -7, -8 = -29

was kind of grinding away on this round and looked up and my score was pretty good! definitely a gentle welcome to the tempo changes, I haven't figured out driver but these wide fairways are forgiving and the course is pretty scoreable with the par 5's. R3: -8  Flubbed my Kinetic rounds after a good R1, missed the cut by a couple shots with a gross R2 and then of course shot -11 for an R3 that won't count! My zombie life will continue with 3 demo marks up there, missing cuts but doing just enough to avoid demotion. sandsaver01 |

illinoisgatorBrandon I have been getting a lot of slows on the back 9. May just be me though. Same...I typically miss fast or have a 2 way miss that alternates but this was far more slows. For the tournament I think I was -20 on the front (with 0 bogeys) and -9 on the back. |

Rd2 -2 Double bogey on the 18th..... again 🤬 At least I've made the cut in K for the fourth week in a row, twice ending up being last of those who played four results. sandsaver01 Still a good round, I'm shocked we lost R2. Random musings from the old fart! When the swing change came I went back down to the 286 driver. I am slowly making my way back up to the big boys. I am now playing the Ben Hogan (I think) which is 291. My main comment is that while I still get the sucky red fast for 250-270 I am getting red fasts that go well over 300+ yards. Anyone else noticing what they think are unusual results? Also, I have completely 'lost' my 215 yard 3 iron since the swing change. What was my 'go to' club is now NOT as I cannot hit a decent shot with it. I lost feel for it. Good luck in rounds 3 and 4 if you have not played them yet. |

Using a 287 right now. Not sure which one that is, but we'll see how it goes. I ditched the 3I. Swapped it for a hybrid with similar distance but more forgiveness. Not quite as good out of the rough, but better out of bunkers and I'll take the extra forgiveness. As for the unusual results - a red fast is supposed to penalize you based on how red fast you are. So the more red fast, the more penalized you get (ie: lose more distance), while if you're just slightly into the red fast territory, the distance penalty isn't that harsh. HOWEVER, I was watching some tests being done on twitch yesterday, and it looks like HB messed it up a bit. The early red fast zone has a small penalty, but then the mid zone has a larger penalty, and then it gets better (ie less penalty) for a good chunk of deep into red fast zone territory, until you hit the very red fast, which is huge penalty. I believe they meant to code it that it just gets worse and worse, but for some reason the biggest penalty right now (other than very red fast) seems to be in the middle of the red fast area. Anyways... my counter to this - don't hit red fasts. |

Shot a -5 in Rd 3 and E in Rd 4, left a lot of birdies out there this week. Heading up to Massachusetts for the weekend, getting married Saturday, and then taking a week honeymoon through Upstate New York, won't be able to play next week.

I was up to level 100 or something like that on xbox before having to buy game and start again on PS. Can't remember what clubs I had as coins were plentiful so I mixed them to help with distance gaps.
Now I've just got the basics and it truth the forgiveness is the way forward for me I think. Now got 2 rescue clubs to go alongside 3 wood and my 3 and 4 iron are being used for my sweet peas.
Hybrids just seem better for distance and forgiveness than flat irons.
Of course I maybe wrong on that.
