I want the leagues to do that but I think Premier is the only one that maybe would go through with it. Serie A and La Liga may try to posture but don’t think they will stomach losing the top teams. I’m really annoyed how this completely neuters CL all because of blue bloods having down years (cough Man U cough). It’s such a toxic capitalism without the consumer in mind. PSG, Bayern and Dortmund are holding out now but I see them falling in line and joining. Maybe Porto over Dortmund or if PSG holds out with their conflict of interest.

The leagues need to trust their own infrastructure and not be held to ransom by the top few. Kick them out if they want to start a closed shop European ‘super league’. One step back, two forward.

Total greed and arrogance by the club owners, I'd kick them out of their leagues and ban them from all competitions. Football may actually flourish without them as a few leagues may become more competitive.

Well apparently UEFA is working to kick out Madrid, Man City and Chelsea from CL THIS YEAR. I guess bring back Dortmund, Bayern and Porto. Things are about to get wild.

I'm fully against the ESL, but UEFA opened this door by failing to enforce Financial Fair Play. We are here today because they allowed clubs to buy their way up the ranks and because of their own greed. And now the rich just want to get richer...fans be damned.
It's shameful, but this is another of a long line of shameful behavior that's been degrading the beautiful game for some time now.
I'm personally heartbroken because I absolutely love the game...but it's being ruined and I'm not sure it will ever be acceptably repaired.

Is anyone surprised? HA!
Football has been rotten for the past two decades. People are acting all high and mighty and surprised now that teams owned by a Russian mobster (Chelsea), a man associated with war crimes in Yemen (Man City), oil rich sheiks in the middle-east (a whole bunch of teams) and American business owners (also a whole bunch of teams) - that their sole raison d'etre is making money? Oh come on.
These teams aren't interested in watching the money that they could potentially earn, trickle down to Cork City FC and Aalborg.
And the fans aren't much better. For years they've been ignoring all of the above facts and happily continued to buy the merch, travel to the games and sing the songs in their local pubs. And you think football died now? No. No it didn't.

No. No it didn't. Them saying this will "trickle down" with no evidence of it is the most rich guy hubris thing ever. Rich people are so used to every time them make an obviosu power grab at the lower class' expense being able to paint it as something for the greater good and getting away with it they thought this would be fine. The oversight in the negative reaction is hilarious to me.

So it's rumored Lyon and Marseille are joining as the 13th and 14th teams. With oen spot left for the "founding members" I assume Ajax and Banfica are next in line for an invitation. But there's now rumors of some of the English clubs getting cold feet because of the backlash.

Not over in my opinion.
A fine (that goes to the lower leagues) and something like 20pts deduction for next season. They need to be held accountable.

it isn't the club or players fault why should they be punished it's the greedy owners they should sell up

it isn't the club or players fault why should they be punished it's the greedy owners they should sell up Not the players or fans fault if a club goes into administration either but they get points deduction for that. There needs to be some form of punishment. Simply apologising isn’t good enough, they’ll only try something like this again one day.
