That's exactly what I do Mr Fredricksen helps keep a straight line . Basically the Y button is in position of the B button and I really grip the controller with my right hand the wire rests on my grove right thumb on the home button . Not pressing it obviously. Give it a bash works for me . I’m a left stick swing so it will probably be slightly different for me but I will give it a go though. I'm left stick left thumb . 👍 it works

Changing my swing technique basically means starting from scratch. I won't be the player i was ever again and that's a change probably a little too severe.
The only way i can avoid hitting black slows is a fairly slow backswing with a massive acceleration forward - call it the 'Matsuyama Method'. Tempo will still be on the slow side and will cost me about 20 to 30 yards with unpredictable outcomes regarding the direction of the shot because of the hard forward flick. Pitch and flop shots are borderline impossible not to hit with a black slow and don't even get me started on the short game. Made it to Elite using the stock and been stuck there ever since. Missing 4 out of 5 cuts is no fun though. When i switch to the Razer, i'm more in the neighborhood of CC-J, if even that.
I'm stumped honestly. The vast majority switching to the Razer has pushed me out of competitiveness. It's unfortunate but nothing i can change without a complete overhaul of my playing style; and i don't feel neither ready nor willing to go there just for the sake of being competitive again in a game that tends to drive me batsh*t crazy. All i can do is to keep hanging in there, trying my best to compete with constant -15/16 on every course and hope the tempo gods show some mercy. Ironically enough, it's not even the random tempo on the stock which kills my scores; for the most part it's the putting that has turned into an utter sh*tshow and at the very least costs me 5 to 7 avoidable strokes each round. Harsh lipouts, inexplicable breaks and random power gushes out of the blue - it doesn't resemble golf, it's a lottery and not really enjoyable. I either push through the annoyance or call it quits and as of now, every single day i'm losing some of my patience with it which brings me closer to quitting. I just don't have the nerves for one step forward and two steps back anymore.
But at the end of the day, it's our community that keeps me going and it's far too precious to lose.

"....I don't want to open up a can of worms but I've been surprised since coming back about the general apathy around the game and tours on twitch. It might just be me projecting my own feelings but I do get the feeling we're all playing on settings that are much too easy and going through the motions a little. I get the hesitation - I remember Doyley saying they had discussed turning the marker off on TST but that they make decisions with the 80% in mind, which tbf has served the tours very well so far! - but I really do think tweaking swing to legend or disabling grids for all tours would inject some excitement back int ok the community*. If only because I think a lot of people would be genuinely surprised how well they play with them off - even, dare I say it, you. Jamie! - and how enjoyable it is. *That or it would kill the site dead! 😂 Edit: I don't think anyone who has tried out longpole 's society hasn't stuck around. Demonondalinks is a certified big gun in there now! And I'm sure horusphoenix and subtlebees would be chomping at the bit to have platinum without grids and / or on legend. As an aside has anyone seen Subtlebees and Dansamps in the same room... Lol TST had 67 people finish the last event. 61 the week before. 59 the week before that. I remember when well over 100 people played TST and there was talk about if they needed a 2nd tour. Not so much anymore. If you can't get people to play TST with their "non-sim" settings, I don't see how "real sim" settings or legend difficulty would ever be in high demand.

If your hitting black slows 95% of the time try using the method I used when I first got the wolverine and that’s what I was hitting. Go to the range and select your driver, pull the aim marker back towards you as far as it will go usually round the 230 yds mark for a driver, then swing back, your backswing will be slow so you will have to wait for the animation to catch up then swing through at a reasonable speed. The pulling back of the marker will shift your timing to the left towards the perfect mark. Try it with the rest of the clubs and let me know how you get on. We’re just trying to help a fellow xboxer. That method won’t work if you have distance control on as doing the marker bit will only shorten your backswing but it works great for your rounds. I don’t use that method now because I feel my controller has loosened up sufficiently now for me to play without doing it.

It was more related to what I kind of perceive as a general apathy towards the gameplay in general when dropping into streams and chatting to people about the game, and looking at the trouble the site is having with donations. I think introducing more of a challenge and going a bit more grounded would breathe new life into it even if it was in a more streamlined form. As I say though I could be totally wrong. I think there's an incompatibility with a site that needs to have broad appeal and trying to grow a more grounded experience which - to me, weirdly, remains quite niche. But eh, I've rolled the dice a fair bit on it and I'll just try and encourage people to try out those settings on twitter and twitch. Playing Neil tonight on Royal Portrush for a bit of a preview for this week's course on Simulation Tour. We doing 18 holes Neil? Just so I know if I need to book the rest of the week off, or just tomorrow and Thursday if we're doing 9...

Losing you would be a massive gut punch after your Ryder Cup heroics. Stick with it man, you'll get there. But in the meantime maybe take a little break and come back fresh in a few weeks? It's worked for me in the past. The Razer is absolutely the way forward but it's not a magic wand.

You will probably hit a few 95% power shots at first but they will be straight. I played that way for at least 10 tournaments and slowly worked my way up the tours from CC-J I’ve a feeling that my controller has worn in a bit now because even my bad slows never go into the black. If I get a couple of rounds were I’m getting predominantly slows I will revert back to it but only pulling the marker back 5 to 10 yards which is usually enough to move the feedback towards or left of that centre perfect point. I did spend a couple of hours on the practice fairway though to get it ingrained into muscle memory.

I agree it’s not a majic wand it still needs some work but I think the effort is worth it in the end. If I was still using the wireless controller I guarantee I wouldn’t have got out of J in fact I might have even gone down or given up competitive play altogether.

So, am I the last one using Stock controller now? I see all your guys scores and I have to admit, it kills me knowing that I have that controller but can't get on with it, thinking what might be if I just give it another shot and it somehow clicks. It's horrible feeling that you're being left behind when you see how far the people around your level have moved on with their game. With stock I feel that no matter how well I play, there's always those shots that can happen out of the blue that destroy the hole you are on and that then sits with me in the back of my mind and affects the rest of the round. Just go with it. Just calibrate it and don't worry about perfects. If it's on perfect slow or perfect fast you are fine. Once you realize your plane tendency left or right play it.

Agreed i hit more slight fasts so I set up a couple of squares right of the stick and it will normally come back on target if I get a straight swing line.
