I’ve been away from here for a while. Looks like there have been a load of amazing uploads to the contest. Time to start playing some of these.

[]I watched him play mine. He liked my planting, the golf it didn't seem as though he enjoyed all that much. He mentioned bunkers, which are really hard for me-I just can't seem to get the hang of making decent bunkers. Though, what I don't know exactly is did he mean the shape, sculpting, or placement of said bunkers. Perhaps all 3 lol aboothe22 As the last person to comment I picked yours for my first play. First thing to say is the planting is great. I can really appreciate the amount of hours that must have taken to do. Really enjoyable loop. I’m going to comment on bunkers as you mentioned them. I find bunkers really hard to get anywhere close to right (usually I fail). I’m also not really experienced enough to comment so please feel free to disregard anything I say. I appreciate we had minimal elevation to work with (which makes it doubly tough) but on the first and second the fairway bunkers felt like they were banked into a slope that only existed for the purpose of banking the bunker. I.e. the slope gave the bunkers a high side and visibility but didn’t look like a slippery that would naturally be there. Some of the green side bunkers (e.g. right of two) had those weird lines in them where the land has been excessively sculpted to the point it starts breaking up on the game. I really struggle with this problem when I try to build deeper bunkers and don’t know what the solution is (other than to raise the bunker base). Someone else probably does. Other (e.g right fairway on 5) are possibly a bit flat. I don’t know, bunkers are really hard. I really really like the way you brought the river through the plot on each hole. With the planting this was a great look. Enjoyed my round. (P.s. though it didn’t really matter, I had an impossible pin on the 6th (tight left on red slope). Loads of good playable green on the hole so assuming somethings gone wrong moving a waypoint or similar.)

Loads of good playable green on the hole so assuming somethings gone wrong moving a waypoint or similar.) That makes sense. I probably made a bit of a mistake by not raising the land just a little bit more from the water plane. I started with a huge water plane, and just raised the land around it to form the creek/river/whatever it is lol. As a result, on several bunkers when I laid them down I'd have to raise just a bit to get them to show up, just because of the way the game "auto-sculpts" them a bit got too low and the bunker as I drew it didn't exist (hit the water plane). Also, I'd go to sculpt the ones that were laid down and I'd have that happen on occasion as well. It was a pain, for sure. I definitely did have to build up for bunker visibility some, and that's been an issue that I've had with courses in the past too. It's something that I know I still really need to get better at. I do really like the theme that I've created though, and look forward to taking feedback and trying to expand it to 18. I'll definitely have to pare down the planting somewhat to do that though-I think I hit about 60% meter on the 6 holes, though a lot of that I think is in the surrounding "woods", that I can get rid of/thin out. I appreciate the feedback, and any more that anyone has. I'm just trying to continue to get better, that's my whole goal in this. I can tell that I have, just by going back and playing my first course or two. I've got 3 published (all approved) though the first and second were closer to not approved than tour worthy for sure. The third, I think I made some good strides but I just ran out of meter so it's underplanted.

Whoops - Yeah my VODs are all muted since we play music. I should have probably done a better job with that lol

Just saw Ameobi's review of my DL entry. When I completed it I was quite pleased with it, but I clearly missed the mark on most holes after all!

Thursday was the first run through of 13 of them. Then he’ll do Tuesday and probably a last few on Thursday this week of Ameobi’s

Is the goal to pick hole designs and routing to NOT do any sculpting for sightlines or are microsculpting adjustments in the fairway acceptable?

Beautiful as I wouldn't know what to do with the extra time after some judging, creating, etc. Now I can go to work and go home to eat a TV dinner and design all night, wake up and repeat!

I remember from design league 1 that there were some really good play through videos uploaded to the thread. I think these were by the ever excellent b101 Is something similar being done for contest 2 as I really learned from the contest 1 playthroughs and would love to get feedback on my course for this contest.
