There were people up in Glasgow having a party in George Square. Not just Glaswegians.
I was too young for it but Scotland got royally screwed as did most industrail zones of the UK

Lol I think you were singing ding dong the witch is dead the loudest I was singing it & got in trouble at work, so I gave my manager (20 year's younger & a southerner) a small history of the 5 towns(as we are known), she soon shut up. Always good to spread the historical facts to the people who don't know, I feel it keeps us together as a community against the big wigs.

Needless to say this has got pretty distasteful, pretty quickly. Surely celebrating the someones death is beneath you - even if you do live above the Watford gap?! As one of Thatchers children (born and raised in Essex), and having spent the last 5 years working at CCHQ on the re-election campaign (which I have now moved on for pastures new since our mission was accomplished ) the vitriol and lack of class the left has for anybody who disagrees with them still astonishes me. I would not celebrate the death of Callaghan despite the Winter of Discontent which left us effectively at the mercy of the Trade Unions. Culling them was one of the best things to happen to this country IMO. Anyways, I digress... Even it juxtaposes my political and economic beliefs, I appreciated that they are only doing what they believe is best for Britain. Celebrating somebody's death, regardless of your political affiliation, is in incredibly poor taste gentlemen. They have family and friends too.

Just to try to bring back on topic -
I'm foremost from North-East England, then English, then British, then European and then everything apart from the US. (Only when it comes to golf :-), sorry but that's all down to the Ryder Cup ) I've chosen English but was happy with UK/British too. It does make it complicated though, we have too many choices!(English, UK, Britain, Great Britain) What do people from the Isle of Man, Jersey etc. choose as their nation on here?

I know I can be strongly patriotic at times but most of the time I do not see the need to separate ourselves by nationality, that includes all over the world and not just British. We are all fundamentally the same. We love, we hate, we have passions. There are small groups of people within each nation that bring them down but fundamentally most of us are generally good people who just want to get on with our lives.
If there was a world flag to choose from I may be inclined to pick that but have picked the Scottish flag to show my locality within the United Kingdom and since in golf the nations are separated it seems right do to it that way since this is a simulated tour.

regarding the op...wtf is moaorish/finnish, you mention english , scott and irish but sub wales with this maorish/finnish jibberish...as a welsh national i don't know whether to be offended by this or accept that north americans have no idea where wales is actually situated....oh well at least we have the coolest flag ever!
Ha, yes I apologise... The Welsh are always left out of stuff.... jokes, threads etc.
But yes, ignore my jibberish, a MaoriFinnish is a jab at the fact that we (NZ) came from everywhere (Immigrants), though Maori were originally from NZ.... no offence meant

I know she had a family and all that but so did the millions who ended up in poverty and suffered a depressing end to their lives. She deserves no respect she was a despicable women.
