Dear Jesus. This was one of the best courses I’ve played in this game. The environment, the contours, just everything about this was amazing. 5* and a favorite without a doubt. Definitely want to go back and try different pins and experience more of this.

Back after several rounds, and Ben said pretty much everything I was thinking. Hell, I even came away from playing those old files thinking that the front was already the better side. This course is an absolute masterclass in the art of the delete button, something I think everyone here can take something from. As for the course specifically, what struck me the most was how much space it felt like you still had. Nothing felt cramped or forced at all. Par 5s also a highlight (which is saying a lot on such a cramped plot) - 6 might be the best 3-shot par 5 in the game. The way you tracked across those sidehills and used the camber is just masterful. All around incredible work Rob, look forward to working more with you in the future. Might need to challenge you even more next time though, seems this plot was too easy

In the middle of a contest publish window for a contest he is not in, rjwils30 drops a course that could easily be a contender to win. I know he had the plot since October... but let's be honest, most of us could work on a plot for 1 year and not reach this level of dopeness. There were plenty of moments where I thought that certain ideas were executed better than any course I have played. I know some people will be able to say, "Well... what about this?!?!" in an effort to point out that no course is perfect. However, I would argue that this is as close to perfect as anybody designing in this game will get. Definitely going to play several more rounds, and take notes of the ideas that I will be stealing for my own future designs. Seriously RJ...

As if Ben b101 releasing Strathlorne reminded me I suck at designing, this course makes me feel awful about myself! Joking, of course . In all seriousness rjwils30 I think this is your best work to date and the course is stunning. Environment is superb, as always, but the golf here really shone and fun shots like the tee shots on 11 and 18, or the ability to run a ball into a lit of the greens made me want to go and do it all over again. Stunning work Rob - you're probably in my top 3 designers ever (although this community is stacked!) and this course shows why. Great work pal!

Played this today. Tremendous course. Some tricky and sloped fairways and subtle elevation changes to test your mettle. Looks great, plays great.

Right, I'll post something after a few more rounds, but people need to know just how good this is and why. Rob shared this plot with Thomas and I a couple of times in the process. We offered some thoughts and mostly loved his front nine. There were some holes I wouldn't have lost for anything, particularly a ridiculous 90 degree dogleg par five climbing beside the river. It was clear Rob wasn't happy though, I'd guess particularly with 2 and 3. I would have ripped them up, changed greensites, tees etc, but generally tried to make the routing work and stuck to the plan. It was a very, very good front nine. I open the course up today, having not seen it for a couple of months. Rob ripped up 2-8 completely, rerouted entirely and turned a very good string of holes into an all-world front nine. That sort of vision and ability to change things dramatically is beyond impressive. Nobody else can do that. --- Up there with Falling Water for me. Unreal work. Thanks for the comments Ben. You are mostly right about my thought process on this. 2 and 3 were ok holes but they felt a bit squeezed into the routing and perhaps too abrupt back to back. The thing that was actually bothering the most was the way the holes on the front nine clung to the moutains on the right side and I felt there was two many shots in a row where you were forced to hang it out to the right to hold the fairway. I wanted to create a river crossing that led back up the other side of the canyon in a figure 8 (holes 6,7,8) that would reverse this relationship for a few holes. I'm glad I did as the routing seems much richer with that move. The par configuration that resulted made me rethink the configuration and par of all the other holes and i ended up revising 2,3,4,5,6,7,8. After losing the par 3 third I also wanted to create another short par 3 late in the round so I changed the old 15th hole into a long four and a short 3. Its a bit of lesson to not get too hung up on a routing. I thought my orignal routing was pretty good given the severity of the site but it just never sat right. I had to give up some pretty cool holes to do so but I think the priotritzing the realtionship of the holes to each other is often more important. I appreacite yours and tpetro's input during this process, I'm not sure I would have arrived at this solution had you not provided me with feedback early on.

I personally think the plot guy is getting screwed and is not get enough credit for the layup he handed over to some guy to plop a few greens and fairways on. I swore I would not come here and cradle his balls like the rest of you sheep but this is just sickening. RJWils doing RJWils things. This will kick of Friday night this week fo'sho'.

Well done! Loved all of it especially 9. All the holes were eye candy and seemed as if all were going downhill. Would love to know how you were able to do that with the routing if you don’t mind. Good job! Hey Thanks for playing. I hadn't really though about how the holes all seem to be downhill until you asked. In retrospect it is likey because I use the par fives to climb the hills directly off the tee, in additon to the fact that many greens are benched against hills which lead to tee boxes above. These two factors probably allow the holes to climb quicker with the following downhill holes slowly winding down and across the slopes. Heres a shot break down in case you are interested. Hole 1: Uphill/Uphill Hole 2: Downhill/Downhill Hole 3: Uphill/Uphill Hole 4: Downhill/Downhill Hole 5: Downhill Hole 6: Uphill/Downhill Hole 7: Downhill (climb up to next tee) Hole 8: Downhill/Flat Hole 9: Flat/Flat Hole 10: Uphill/Flat (climb up to next tee) Hole 11: Downhill Hole 12: Downhill/Downhill Hole 13: Uphill (climb up to next tee) Hole 14: Downhill/Uphill Hole 15: Downhill Hole 16: Downhill/Downhill (climb up to next tee) Hole 17: Downhill/Uphill (climb up to next tee) Hole 18: Downhill/Downhill

Hey I'm with you tpetro is the oringal visionary behind the concept for this course. The plot he created had so much richness I just had to find the right sequence of holes to do it justice.
