I love the look of shallow water but running into some issues that I'm wondering if others have some tips for. How I do shallow water is lay by Water Body and then use Flatten with the first brush and lower it to where I want the land under the water to be where it's visible. I then set the brush at 0 and showly flatten to that same hieght around where I want the water. My first issue is some points the land doesn't want to cooperate and I have to lower it lower then desired. A lot of times (but not always) this happens when Water Bodies cross. I try to flatten at ) after this and can get some of the land up to the height I wish for it to be but not all of it as can be seen in the image below. My other problem is when I have a water table below sometimes (and I can't figure out what is the big key to this happening sometimes and not all the time) The land under the water is now regualr grass and visible you can see the outline of the waterbody. I usually paint this a cart path and add rosk to hide it but it's obviosuly not up to my OCD desire for consitant shallow water. Any tips out there on why these happen? Thanks!

It’s fiddly. Don’t flatten it too close to 0ft or the game can get kinda glitchy with what is water and what isn’t - it’ll flicker quite a bit. Personally I flatten to 0ft and then use raise to lower the area I want as water by about a foot.
Regarding your second one, you’ll want to search for dual water plane or how to create beaches. There’s lots on it and I’m sure some people have done videos.

Oh but basically, don’t have water bodies crossing unless they are identical heights. That’s where your main issues are coming from.

When you use double water planes the water becomes clear where you can see the bottom. Using cart path texture can make a sandy look to the bottom, but you can also plant under that and it looks realistic.
I’ve done shallow water before, but I cover it with planting. Just tool around with flatten until it seems to work.

The first issue is where they are the same height. But the second issue is where I have a water height below that will waterfall from the above water body. I guess I need to be more precise with my water body sizes. Water bodies really are such a pain in the ass how they are done in this game. Especially when you have land close to the height around it because the corners of the bodies are so hard to hide from messing up your land.

Yes, in the second example it’ll basically show the base terrain (fairway, light rough, heavy rough etc) at the height of the lowest water body. Water can be a nightmare to select as well, so try to avoid planting until you’ve got them right. Personally, I use very few, big water bodies for ease of selection, but I know others use lots of small ones - never known the difference.

Is the second pane directly under the water pane or is it technically under ground? The course I’m finishing just has a ton of water changing heights throughout. There’s a couple ponds that flow to a little collection area of rocks and flows again to a lower pond and I got it to work but it’s been a pain and in select areas those on PC with F10 can find areas the ground really was fighting me. Trying to figure out how much to keep fussing or how much to wait for that publish date and get started in the designer on my NT course lol
