For a newer designer this was not a bad effort at all. There were some sightline issues with quite a few holes (they looked too good) which distracted me from finding faults. If I had to find some positives from my round, I would say the best holes in order were the 10th, 18th, 8th, 12th, 17th, 15th, 2nd, 4th, 6th, 1st, 5th, 16th, 9th, 14th, 7th, 13th, 11th & the 3rd. The rest sucked tbh. With a bit more attention to detail and some tutorials, you're not that far away. I've included a video below which also might help you develop. Good effort though - keep at it. P.S. I'm adding you to the Heisenberg high five club but I might be back for the clap when all entrants are in. Great course Ben - congrats LMAO. Too funny... Seriously, this is unreal. The planting, in my opinion, is what takes this course from a collection of great holes to something absolutely amazing. The sculpting is tremendous, of course, but without that expert planting, it just wouldn't look as special. Not sure you can get to this level through practice alone. Maybe... Some serious natural talent is more likely at play here. Peter

This course is special. No other way to put it. The sculpting is so good it could be mistaken for a Lidar. This one ticked pretty much every box I could think of. My good shots were rewarded with make-able birdie putts and my bad shots were punished fairly but afforded me some excellent opportunities to be creative around the greens. I refuse to use the splash shot unless in a bunker and was able to execute some really fun chip-and-runs and partial pitch shots enroute to one of the best rounds I’ve ever played in this game. Just want to personally thank you for all that you do for the community and setting a wonderful example for not only myself but so many other aspiring designers. The courses you produce are always inspirational for me and keep the bar for excellence high leading other designers to continually challenge themselves to excel. It may be a bit of a moot point, but good luck in the comp lol😂👍🏻

Thought all your design philosophies & concepts just gelled perfectly here into one big & serious good-lookin playground of camber and elevation. The greens are just to die for and leaves me again wishing we could have 7 pin sets to play around with, one for each day of the week. Just a hell of a lot of fun. Holes 3 & 12 are my personal favourites; love the approach on 3 and the greensite at the long par 3 12th, with the mound at the front, is a sick concept executed excellently. Well done boss you nailed this out of the park! Cheers from the bush

Adds sooooo much interest to the short game!

Well it resembles a golf course kinda...
A few trees, some grass, a cup, tees, fairways blah....
A decent effort from a mediocre designer... Maybe watch some of that Ben guys tutorials to get a feel of what to do, tear this crap up and try again???
Also you left bare spots all on outside of the plot. a pet peeve of mine, and you must be punished.....
ROFL
Exquisite work sir... loved it... Im amazed at what a bunch of you guys can do with this designer.... This contest is going to be amazing....

My man Hallz, keepin' it real around the greens 👍. If you’ve never tried it, I highly recommend it! Adds sooooo much interest to the short game! I just might. Maybe allocate myself one splash per round for times of need! 😆 It would appear to have been a bit of an oversight from the devs. Such a simple way to add more interest and challenge to the short game (and in turn the approach game) would have been to have the option to restrict this overpowered shot to 'bunkers only' in the difficulty settings. Maybe we can get jcauthen04 on the case!

Not bad Ben......but when are going to bloody finish Burnham? Seriously - very very nice - loved 6 and 8. Lots of Pebble (I mean Cobble) Beach vibes on the cliff holes..... (Reviewers hat on - and also just for mayday_golf83's judging bingo card)
Nitpicking ( ) - you missed two slivers of accidental semi rough by the front bunker at 14. Can't give it TW therefore........yeah right

Alright, alright! My man, this was really special. I definitely felt all of the vibes you mentioned in your post and I loved the overall environment. STRATHLORNE: GREEN TEE/PIN 2
Hole by Hole Thoughts:
- The first three green sites were excellent and the 3rd tee shot was extremely fun. Loved it.
- Amazing fairway undulations on the 5th, great fairway bunker, and I loved the vertical hazard area between fairway and green.
- Great long views on 6, tough green to get it close but it fit the hole perfectly.
- The 7th green resembled the 9th at Windstone for me, great overall hole, enjoyed driving through trees out onto the open clifftop.
- The 8th fairway is absolutely nastyyyy, I love it obviously.
- The 10th was a top two best looking tee shot, a very Pine Valley-esque hole for me, pin 2 is diabolical! Favorite hole so far.
- 11th infinity green was a great look to hit into. - The 12th was a really fun hole and endless replay-ability due to the central vertical hazard, large green, and green contours. Best par three for me along with the second hole.
- More great fairway undulations at 14 and more use of vertical hazards up and down this hole, so many viable options, endless variety, my other top two favorite hole on the course.
- 16th was just an overall fun hole to play.
- 17 was extremely intimidating! Really cool green site and tough green contours.
- “Ode to Ben” is what I’m calling 18 haha, really fun and a tricky 2 shots and a great green site. Great finisher.
Overall Thoughts
Obviously great work and the green sites and contouring really stood out to me. My favorite set of greens from you so far. Specifically the green sites and contours. I especially enjoyed the usage of the vertical hazards as I personally think they are widely underused and underrated. It creates more variety and a different kind of hazard to account for. The environment was awesome and the winding through the different "compartments" was done really well and added to the overall variety. I really like the naturalness and more wild sculpting you did here and the hole thing blended into its environment extremely well.
