Sensing blood in the water (and perhaps releasing some pent-up frustrations from the absolute collapse in Season One's second half) the Azzurri press the attack and go for the jugular. The blue shirts relentlessly swarm the Aston Villa side of the field, firing missile after missile toward the frame, pinning the Villa down in their own end frantically scrambling to defend.

The question has been asked for many years, does a coach/manager actually matter? Today the Dragons got their answer, after an up and down first half saw them sitting at 1-1 at the break, the coach delivered the most uplifting and invigorating message that any young Dragon have ever heard. They felt it, they wanted to perform, and they did. The third quarter performance will be remembered in Canterbury for many years, the goal was being peppered and the East Fifians wilted under the onslaught.
The question was, had all the energy been expended? Could they close the game down in the final quarter. It was up and down, back and forwards in the final few. Injury time dragged on......

Tim Kips (that's the goalkeeper, my friends) is the man of the match! So, the F91 squad finally got out of their cabin yesterday evening, and it turned out that spectators were going to witness one of the most spectacular draws in PGF history. The first half was characterized by a slow start on behalf of the Luxembourgish team. The defense was not very well sorted, so that Ajax was able to apply some pressure. Eventually, it was ten Hag ( fransslabak, I know, but it adds to the fun) who could score with a nice header in minute 14 of the match. It turned out that Dudelange was not too impressed, though, and a nice long shot by midfielder Ryan Klapp found the net to equalize at 1-1. It turned out that this was the final score already. (!) Both teams came hot out of the gates and showed some impressive offensive football in the second half. In Minute 68 (the final minute before the short break), it's been Edvin Muratovic who had a very good chance to put Dudelange in front, but he missed from in close as his seemingly straight shot got deviated. This left his teammates completely consternated, and so it was Ajax's turn again. Their offense began to execute attack after attack, but apparently, they didn't include Kips in their calculations. In what have been probably the best 10 minutes of his career, Kips blocked a total of 9 consecutive shots, showing some phenomenal parades. And here are Kips's 9 blocked shots: Cheers and good luck all! I need a drink.

While West Ham came out after the break and played some majestic football, Liverpool decided to stay in there, for some reason. The Hammers totally dominated the start of the 2nd half and got a well deserved goal in the 58th minute. (-7) With the scores locked at 1-1, both teams looked decidedly nervous. Some frantic play in the late stages saw the Reds try for that winning goal. Alas, it was not to be. A few brilliant saves from the West Ham keeper, saw the game finish at 1-1. (-5) rob4590

Pixel Golf Football Season 2 - Championship division, Week 1: Hyvinkään Palloseura @ Northampton Town
Welcome ladies and gentlemen to this opening week matchup between two teams that are debuting on this stage! Excitement is in the air, and only on the air (if this is even shown on TV anywhere) since no one's probably allowed to the stadium for this thrilling contest. We can't quite wait for this one! Let's go to our pre-game report with our man, Jeff on the sidelines. Jeff?
"Well, thanks Jeff! It looks like this Finnish team that no one can pronounce here is raring and ready to go! Rumor has it that they are hungry to show what they've got going on since they are only getting paid a peanut per appearance, so it will be interesting to see what's going to happen here! Back to you Jeff!"
Thank you Jeff, and now let's go to the starting lineups for this fixture. It seems this Finnish side is going for a 4-1-2-3 formation today, or maybe it was just someone trying to learn numerical lines and they botched the job. Oh wait, we don't have time for that since the kickoff is about to go!
Reports from the sidelines: It seems like this Finnish team is starting off a little sluggishly today. They don't seem to have the pace or chemistry to get much going in the early stages of this match. Things turn around quite out of nowhere at around the 9th minute, where an absolute world class strike from the Estonian wonderboy, also known as the "Estonian Lionel Messi", Loonel Mesi might have found the back of the net from just over 16 yards away. From the 9th minute onwards, they are looking much better with not a lot of complaints or "wow" moments thrown in. (Round 1: 65, -7.)
Things simmer down for a few minutes after around the 20th minute of the game where the boys are going back to autopilot, not doing much in the game again. From about the 26th minute onwards, there's some pressure going on and it might be rewarded again on the 29th minute of the game where that man Mesi strikes again, from an outstanding pass from El Capitan of the center field Don Siesta. That surely has to be another goal. Pressure continues sporadically until half time and the team is looking calm and composed, even though at times a bit jittery by shooting their shots a little too far off target. (Round 2: 64, -8.)
At half time, Coach Imot is motivating the players to keep pushing. This is done by bribing and cajoling the players by offering 2 extra peanuts if they can finish the game strong. They seem pretty interested, probably so they don't have to hear the coach yell "perkele" every 3 words. (Through 2 rounds: -15, bogey free too!)

The Estonian Messi? I think he fitted a kitchen for me once, a really shoddy job. None of the drawers ever shut properly.
On second thoughts perhaps he was just a Messy Latvian.

Great match though!

Bit of a return to Earth for the Azzurri from the torrid pace they set in the 3rd 22. The final stanza saw them sprinkle in moments of sheer befuddlement in an otherwise crisp display of offensive soccer. (Hit one off the rocks on the Par 3 on the front, scrambled for bogey; threw one into the water on 17 for a double.) But in the end it is a positive start for the Italians, just like Season One. The question going forward, of course, is whether they can translate their quick start into a similar finish.

3rd Round -8 There was an air of caution in the Celtic team as they came out for the 2nd half as they knew the next goal will be vital. They started off sprightly but were more deliberate about their play, making the ball stick and not taking any risks. Some good interplay between McGregor and Edouard created a few chances for the Frenchman but he failed to capitalise. Bristol City made sure they didn't have it their own way and had an effort crack off the bar with Bain in goal rooted to the spot. That seemed to act as a wake up call as good play by Forrest seen him cut in from the right and fed a cute ball through to Elynoussi who coolly slotted the ball into the bottom left corner.

With the players being taken off the pitch in the 23rd minute due to a update scare, Herne Bay lost their mojo on the return and allowed Tranmere to take control of the match with some of Bay players giving less than 100%, although they did start to get their act back together for the last 5 minutes of the half, but not enough to score Rd 2 +6

Still riding the high from their Champions League victory in Season One, JFH’s Barcelona traveled to the real Barcelona and put on a show in the first half (-8, -13). It’s looking like a great start to the Premier League for the Brewers.

Chelsea vs Coventry Following a Teutonic tongue lashing in the shed at half-time Chelsea came out and improved a little - and I mean a little. Very poor showing here by Chelsea and perhaps it's just as well their home fans were not there to see it.

Josef Zinnbauer felt fortunate to be level with Big Red at the half, and implored his Pirates to find another gear. Orlando came out with some enthusiasm to start the second half (clean -8 round 3) but closed very sloppily albeit with some effort (3 Humph -6 in round 4).
Onward to....?
