The Sky Blues returned from their holidays at Skeggie, down with the fans these players, fat and unfit facing a daunting trip to Stamford Bridge. Main striker was also suffering with a bad arm due to his Covid jab. I know, you play footie with your feet!! With having to call off at Taunton on the way back to Cov for more Covid jabs they were keen to get the match put to bed. They would have found the match went a little quicker if they avoided quite so many shots into Row Z. Chelsea even stationed someone up there permanently late in the 1st half. The players grew in confidence as the match wore on but probably more down to the fair early season conditions rather than any skill they may or may not possess. Will it be enough to silence the King's Road millionaires?
Round 1 66 (-6) Round 2 66 (-6) Round 3 64 (-8) Round 4 63 (-9)

That's a heck of a detour from Skegness to either Coventry or Chelsea if you're going via Taunton.....need to sack the coach driver, or check his contract isn't based on mileage driven..... SkyBlueBen

Don't know what he's doing driving, he's been furloughed for the last eight months - I sense a scam

1st Round -1
The grounds keeper had soaked the pitch as he knew that Bristol City weren't keen on a slower surface, but he shortly found out Celtic didn't perform well on it either. A new season but the same opposition and the same slow start from the home team, the Robins defence kept Celtic at bay and forced them to try their luck from distance.
There were a few shots on target from Christie and Rogic but others went inches wide of goal. The Celtic backline haven't improved since last season and presented City with a couple of chances to take the lead.

Making their debut in Pixel Golf Football with a home tie in the Land of the Long Sports Team Name, Canterbury United Dragons found their Scottish opponents in a particularly generous frame of mind. During the first half they seemed determined to prove that they couldn't score in a Bangkok brothel. The signing of unknown Brazilian Naybur, it appears to have had the undesired effect of tainting the whole team's approach to the game. A dozen par putts of less than a foot, all of which could and should have dropped on another day.
Just before the break as the team was struggling, the tee shot on the par-3 seventeenth predictably found the slow to drift it into the water and nail another missed cut to the changing room door. It will mean a couple of anxious days of looking at the Elite leader board to see if Doyley is in trouble again to allow East Fife to pick up their 20th demo mark without relegation or whether this week will be the long-overdue and welcome coup de grace for the Fifer's miserable CC-B existence.
Round One - 67 (-5) Round Two - 71 (-1)

F91 Diddlelang - Ajax
Battle of the Benelux
Ajax played well but strangely enough in the 14th (!!!) minute they made a horrible mistake going for goal when they shouldn’t have... and that might cost them dearly. And they did it again in the 14th minute of the second half of the first half... 💦💦💦💦💦
Let’s see whether Luxembourg’s pride can take advantage....
Round 1: -12 Round 2: -10

Barcelona - Burton Albion
Despite quite a run of poor form, Barcelona have found themselves promoted into Pixel Golf Football’s top flight and quite unluckily have drawn last season’s champion Burton Albion in the season opener.
A bit of nerves from the home squad as the match started as Barca pressed the attack forward with Dembele overrunning the ball in the opening minute and Griezman putting a header over the net in the second. Messi hit one off the post before finally striking an incredible goal from a free kick in the 6th minute. Despite connecting on a number of brilliant passes, the players could not find the back of the net consistently, much to the dismay of the manager. The press forward left Ter Stegen on an island later in the half leaving plenty of opportunity for the visitors to pull ahead. Barca head to the break looking to make changes and hoping for a better result in the second half
Round 1: -5 Round 2: -1 (continued my theme of playing better than my score would indicate today)
*Side note, thank you for the invitation to the group! Happy to be a part of it and look forward to the season!

Round One - 67 (-5) Round Two - 71 (-1)Canterbury United Dragons started the game in a festival mood, driven by the crowd. The Mad Butcher was giving away a sausage pack for the BBQ to anyone who caught a ball kicked into the crowd on the full. It was a relatively warm day for football, about 24 degrees (75 American degrees). Sadly there were no visiting fans due to border closures, so the make up of East Fife supporters remains a mystery, but the working assumption is it is the poorer part of Fife, and the supporters would have been hooligans who had to spend generational wealth to travel half way round the world if they were able to.
The Dragons were excited by the festival atmosphere and couldn't perform in the first quarter but started to find their footing in the second quarter, bit of work for the coach to do at half-time to settle the boys.
Round One 71 (-1) Round Two 67 (-5)

The Azzurri emerged from their cloistering refreshed and ready to roll. The Italians looked very crisp and clean throughout the first half, though they stepped a bit back from the reckless abandon they had utilized in the first season to catch the higher level professional squads by surprise. Now that they're in the top flight, perhaps a bit of reticence to open themselves up to being the prey instead of the hunter? Regardless, a solid effort throughout the first 45, if a bit lacking in a imagination and finish. We will wait and see if it's enough to sneak into the half with a positive result.
((R1: 66)) ((R2: 65))

Orlando was the toast of the town early on in season 1, but the shine is off the road apple and the Pirates are starting the smell like the bilge rats that they are. Nothing like facing Man U and those bright shiny kits to bring out the worst in Soweto's finest.
Round 1 -8
Round 2 -4
Now to halftime and some quality snacks.
