How about instead of all of us acting like tools in the threads, we take this to the off topic side. Use this as an appropriate medium to tell me ALL the reasons you hate my f'in guts. This way, I'm not accused of derailing another thread; sometimes, I understand it's mea culpa. I encourage you, bring your friends - pile on. I'd love to hear it. Is it because I don't bow down at the feet and pump the tires of the clique like all these other do-boys? Or bc I picked on an OG a little bit? Tisk tisk. Have your fun here boys. You can even swear at me 😱 I won't tell. Or you can just keep jabbing in the main threads like you enjoy accusing me of (which I do). Either way, I'm down for whatever. And I'm sure I'll be gone soon enough, so you can always look forward to that. I will level with you however. This whole thing reeks of pure clique and sanctimonious talk. I actually enjoyed the site when I was a noob and didn't know any better. Now that I see its only a good old boys club and only those that grovel are aggrandized... It gets a little tiring. And I don't even want in the clique. I just want to point it out. The brown nosing is just at a whole different level than I've ever seen, and I guess to some degree, it gets to me. |

I'm new here too. Joined the forum in November. Lurked for a bit, figured out the norms around here, and eventually tried to fit in. For the most part, I think I've done that, if only because I've respected that this place existed long before me and has already established its vibe and culture.
My first knowledge of you was you creating a course where you went out of your way to use the designer tools to write hate speech on said course. Since then, you've been instigating fights for no particular reason (other than you had a course not accepted) and then when called out for it, you've reverted back to it being everyone else's fault - that everyone's against you and there's a clique that won't let you join in.
There is no clique here. There are people here who have known each other for years and genuinely consider each other friends. What you've done is the equivalent of walking into a local pub where everyone knows each other, yelling out hate speech, and then yelling at everyone to fight them (basically what Matt said above). And then coming back the next day and wondering why no one wants you there.
This place has welcomed me with open arms and has been very supportive in helping me grow a twitch channel that I started in mid-January. Why have they done that? I can't speak for anyone, but I'd like to think that it's because I've come in here, respected the norms that are already in place, gotten to know who the people are, gotten to know what's accepted here and what isn't, and gradually tried to find how I fit in within that. If you consider that grovelling or brown nosing, well, I can't help you there.
So, basically you're either trolling everyone in here, or you have absolutely no idea how to interact with others.

However, the fact that you didn't address this statement right off says something to me. Perhaps i don't understand the context as i do not know what was published, but if my someone associated my name with the term "hate speech" i would be quick to defend myself against such accusations. Would you be mention the discrepancy in their interpretation and yours to defend said course? What was put out there in game where one person finds it offending as such, but yet you find it simply "theatrical"? That, IMO, is a wide berth in opinions to simply brush off. |

But the nature of the beast is that a lot of people bring their egos along with their designs, and therefore whatever chip on their shoulder or whatever unresolved emotional issues they carry around with them. We don't want you guys to leave, we're not trying to force you out. But I'm also not dealing with more BS than I'm forced to, and if people are completely incapable of behaving like a functional human being, than why should we humor them at the expense of everyone else?

This is one of the first things that's actually made sense here, sir. I mean that honestly. I think I've said what I've needed to over the past couple months. No matter what, yes I think there is a clique, and only those that pump the tires of the OGs stand a chance. I'll never be a kiss up. I know almost all of you will disagree with that and that's okay. We'll chalk it up to the fact we'll absolutely never see eye to eye - and I'll try not to revisit it. I guess I'm just not adjusted to "dork" culture as you say it. In my circles we say what we mean and back it all up if needed. I guess it's memes and subtleties here. I'll try to comport myself better moving forward. Don't think I don't understand I've been my own undoing on more than a few occasions. |
