Happy Monday everyone. Hope you all are off to a great start to the week. I am still licking my wounds from my rounds here last night. I played bad enough that it could finally be my last week on Elite. I have yet to make a cut, despite being on this tour all season, but still somehow hanging around here. Welcome, also, to the 24 newest Elite members following promo event 2: balzone15, philhen27, theroyalostrich, gingermayne, goneshady , matluk32, vinnyb420 , bizzi73i, pvocease, themagicman1385, bennyk315 , jensp44, pilsner23, mromaha5 , jlearoyd, macgreg0r , olsen , mega8deth8 , karacake, x1maverick1x901, bro_star13, braydonoma, bross2387 , mcnibbles Week 19 is at Dunstan Head. A rookie design contest entry, this course has several aspects that are anything but rookie. I enjoyed it quite a bit even as it kicked me in the teeth with its length, especially into the higher wind rounds. What kind of a scheduler lets some of those par 4s play so brutally!?! Anyway, here is more from the designer below: Course Description: Dunstan Head, based on the Northumberland Coast in the north-east of England, has been released and is entered into the Rookie Design Contest. Measuring 7,529 from the championship tees, this par 73 traditional links course is laid out between the rugged North Sea coastline and the old village of Dunstan, St Mary's Church and the new village of Colton. Stretching from the clubhouse to the once-thriving fishing harbour, the course offers a challenge of all elements of the golfer's game. In light winds, the course allows for low scoring despite its length because of the ever-present firm and fast conditions. When the prevailing wind form the north picks up, the links reveals its teeth. Large and undulating greens together with wide and inviting fairways put a premium on the quality of iron play, particularly when the wind is up. Those that carefully choose their angle in from the generous fairways and make use of the ground game are likely to do well. ---- Good luck everyone!

It looks like you have me for one more week, having missed out on a countback for only 2 spots to Platinum in the promo event - I had to laugh! Anyway, a -51 after 4 (my best event total ever) will almost definitely see this as my last Elite tournament...however, recent events have proved to me not to count those lil' chickens until they are a hatchin' Thank you jwtexan and toddfather for your time, expertise, and patience dealing with reprobabtes like myself

Jesus Cotty - that’s some good scoring in those winds! At -11 For the first 2 rounds I reckon I’m going to struggle to make the weekend which is a bit embarrassing given this is my course 😬 Thanks for setting it up tough jwtexan - dread to think what Cotty would have done to it if the winds weren’t up!

First, congrats to Cottyuk. -51 is an exceptionnal scores. You'll beat everyone by a mile, including Plat players that tried the course.
I'm in a similar position, played -40 in the promotion with a 5th. The lack of Platinium cards cost me a promotion I guess. I had even practiced Winged Foot for a while! 🤣🤣🤣
But hey, I'm very glad to try the Dunstan Head in a significative tournament. Fun fact, I'm probably in the first 10 players ever to play this course. I saw the guy posting it on FB and went trying it immedialtly. Great course.
Sitting at -17 after 2, I think I can forget the victoiry, thanks to Cottyuk! 😄 But the 2 points for promotion the regular way are live.
I think I'll pratice that 3rd round a bit before playing it. It is obvioulsy sponsored by the Maximum Daily society, and I hate very firm greens!

After hanging around the Kinetic purgatory zone I somehow managed a -36 in the Promo to find my self up here in Elite. Tough track but looking forward to it. Don't think I'll get anywhere close to -51 Cottyuk (Well played!) but hoping for a made cut to start it off.

Hey fellow Elitists. Just up from Kinetic. I started with a -15 at the cut. That might be enough to skate by, but only managed back to back -5s to finish at -25. Rough start but happy to be here.

+1!! -5 after 2 rounds nowhere near good enough to stay up here for long. Should probably play the game more and maybe have at least one practice round before jumping straight in on Sunday mornings 😂😂

R1 -6 R2 -8
-14 at the cut. Should be right on the line but we'll see. Couple of V fast shanks in the first round and just mediocre putting in both.
Loved the course and set up. Feeling right at home cut watching lol

I was not in that list of newly promoted people but that's because I promoted the normal way instead after my first ever win in TGC last week.
And my first round in Elite started with a bogey. Ugh. Luckily, I fought back, got some ridiculous help from the pin on a 61-feet putt for Eagle that would have been 20 feet past the hole and somehow finished -9 for Round 1.
We're gonna play that R2 tomorrow but at least, that's a good start of my stint here in Elite.

however, recent events have proved to me not to count those lil' chickens until they are a hatchin' Way to follow that kick in the nuts with a great score! with my 10th place last week, thought I had my 3 greenies for promotion back to Plat- but apparently 10th is good enough for 2 greenies in 75% of the events (depending on participation numbers) and I'm still on 2. Based on Cow Cup participation- I make about 60% of cuts on Platinum and never finish higher than 30th... so I'm not sure why I'm so keen to get back other than it's 4 less rounds a week.

Apologies, obviously I didn't check kinetic to see if we had any promotions the old fashioned way and just pulled the list straight from doyley's spread sheet. Either way, we are happy to have you and good luck!

On cut watch again. That's just how I roll. However, unlike last week where I missed by 1, this week I think my -13 will hold up.
Round 1 was my best effort at arson, burning cup edges everywhere. 29 putts with only 1 three putt - for par on #10. Didn't make a single putt outside of 7.5', but lots of close ones. Between getting used to bead counting and missing my target percentage by 1-2%, I just didn't get much to go down. Finished with 5 birdies and 13 pars.
Round 2 I wasn't as accurate, especially on approaches (Down from 78% in R1 to 61% in R2), but scored much better with only 22 putts. Could have been even better had I not gotten too fast off the tee at 17 and put it in the water. Almost made the up and down for par, but lipped out and took a bogey. I thought I'd killed my chances, as that left me at -11, but chipped in for eagle on 18 from behind the green to help make up for the error on 17.
Funny that I had just played in the Nova Nation society at another of the RDC courses - The Revival Club - with a relatively similar feel. However, I scored MUCH better there. This track is just quite a bit harder, especially getting approaches close with makeable putts.

Hi there, first time in Elite and it feels great Thanks a lot that this course is newbie friendly and quite good to play. As a result I will make the cut and hope for good conditions on day three and four. But I fear I can expect harsh winds.
