I love chess. Like you guys, I played in school, and actually did very well at it. I love turn based strategy.
I've tried chess.com a couple times but never set up an actual account there, I just played the computer. Never seem to have time to sit and play real people. (with a computer you can turn off the time limit and play the game on breaks and stuff)
If I get around to setting up an account I'll post here and gladly add you guys

You can set up daily games on chess.com that allows for just one move per 24hrs or more if you get stuck for time. Pretty much classical chess. Come and join in.

I'm terrible at it but just recently started back at chess.com. I watch GMHikaru streams on Twitch when I can and some of his youtube stuff. Been thinking of getting a Diamond subscription so I can use more of the learning tools available to learn proper openings, etc. as I basically play random moves at the open.
SwAeromotion is my tag over there.

My relationship with chess is an interesting one. I like the game a lot. I like watching pro matches and also really enjoyed Queens Gambit specifically for the chess that was played in it but I don’t actually play at all. I just don’t have the patience for it

You mean sort of like the old play by mail type play?
Would you guys be interested if I had games out there that you could just log in and make a move once a day or so?
With one of my main problems being that I just don't have time to sit and play entire games, I'd be up for that. But, I tried that with another game, Civilization 6 not to long ago, and found that after about a month, people lost their attention span and just a few of the players would actually log in and check every day to see if they had a turn available.

My relationship with chess is an interesting one. I like the game a lot. I like watching pro matches and also really enjoyed Queens Gambit specifically for the chess that was played in it but I don’t actually play at all. I just don’t have the patience for it I’m exactly the same. I just had very limited knowledge of chess playing as a kid, basically just knew how the pieces moved. Then last year randomly stumbled across the Agadmator YouTube channel. Thought to myself...what the hell is this, but watched and was instantly hooked. I remember thinking any time he showed an en passant capture, that he made a mistake in the video lol. Started watching like 5 videos a day and learning, then eventually started watching some live games with the pros. Like you though, I still don’t play at all outside of playing the computer on a chess app once in a while. Just ever had the desire to play any real games. I fell out of it though ever since agadmator took a break from videos for his heart procedure, I know he’s been back for a while now though so I have a ton of catching up to do. Queens Gambit was great, just finished two weeks ago. It’s given me some motivation to get back into it.

2265? Sheeeeeeeeeeeesh. And I thought keeping it around 1000 was decent lol The daily rating is a bit inflated.. Joe - it is always good to play against better players - to a degree that is. You actually do not improve unless you play against better players. Just watched the Tata Steel - and I am impressed by both Van Foreest and Tari. Magnus not on top - but it was better than the previous online Champions Chess tour, so it will be interesting to see how he does in the coming Champion Chess tour. All the best chess players in the world is playing.

As many have this year, I've seen the Queens Gambit and bored out of my mind everyday because of the various lockdowns, so I started playing chess. Currently learning the fundamentals and failing hard, my chess.com username is PointJpeg.

Currently learning the fundamentals and failing hard, my chess.com username is PointJpeg. I added you as a friend. I see you only have a rapid rating. You up for a daily game? I'm fine with a 30 minute rapid game or something if I have time to sit down but I know a lot of people can't just do that randomly.
