Welcome to Cades Cove
Cades Cove is an isolated valley located in the Tennessee section of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, USA. The valley was home to numerous settlers before the formation of the national park. Today Cades Cove, the single most popular destination for visitors to the park, attracts more than two million visitors a year because of its well preserved homesteads, scenic mountain views, and abundant display of wildlife.
My family and I back in July took a trip to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee and on one of the days we drove over into Cades Cove. It is a much traveled destination for families and such to drive through the valley, see deer, bear, elk and other animals in the valley between the mountains. Upon entering there is an 11 mile one way loop road, that has little trails and roads bearing off to different cabins, and old churches etc. It was a beautiful location, and while we were driving the loop I told my wife, this would be a great place for a golf course. So I had the idea, but never could find the inspiration for a couple months... So the Saturday after Christmas I opened the designer and began, once I finished hole 1 I knew what I wanted to do, and here we are...
The course is inspired by Cades Cove and the Loop road around it, there are homes, trails, old church etc throughout. The course I really wanted to keep closed in, where there are views everywhere from every spot I tried to give you some beautiful views of the surrounding valley.. I tried to capture the look of the locale, with some of the fencing style in the park, and some of the natural giant rock faces in the background.... Hope you enjoy
