Favorites - Pebble being a given - Doak's new Memorial Park is a new personal favorite, and Trinity Forest, Kapalua, Mayakoba, and Sedgefield round out the list. Waialae and Riviera should be on that list but need renovations. Least favorites - this list could be 25 courses deep but I figured I'd narrow it down: Sherwood, Torrey, all TPCs aside from Sawgrass (Scottsdale is great as a spectacle but terrible as a golf course), Innisbrook, and Muirfield Village. Im glad someone else likes Memorial Park. That's my home course and it's just a great track. Really shows how you can make a challenging course without many bunkers. It's a second shot course where your drive really needs to be on the correct side of the fairway.

This is just personal preferences…there really aren't courses I hate or ones I absolutely love either. I guess just ones that appeal to me more than others, and some that are just "meh".
Favorites: Pebble Beach Colonial Harbour Town Riviera
The Most "Meh": TPC "Fill in the Blank" Copperhead Course @ Innisbrook

But the rest of the TPC courses are a bit crappy.

I might throw harbour town on the list but maybe I'm just a sucker for pete dye courses Well if you are then I'm with you - Dye arguably made the best golf courses since 1960. I feel modern architecture is starting to improve in small steps but the tour doesn't seem to recognise that.

Ok, I've got a couple more for least favourite. 1 - TPC Harding Park. I really like the bay area look (props to Jeremy for doing that so well at Merced) but this course hasn't much architectural interest IMO. Nice 18th though. 2 - Muirfield Village. I know it's already been talked about a little in this thread but it's more Nicklaus design crap. If any of you know top100golfcourses.com, I can say now it's beyond me how this course is ranked 84 in the world. The fact it's named after one of the best links golf courses on the planet makes me wretch. EDIT: Muirfield Village GC also has one of the worst golf course websites in the world. It shouldn't change my opinion, but, ehh...

So I guess I will remove Sawgrass from the "Fill in the Blank" grouping. And now that I think about it, I might even add it to the "Favorites" list.

Well that's disappointing. I see they've moved to Craig Ranch, which is easily one of the worst TPC courses. This is why the TOUR is a bad benchmark of what "good golf" is. Yeah, it was a fan consideration, holding an event in texas in May where there is no shade means not enough fans came out. On top of that the course isn't "hard enough" for the pros and fans hate it when pros score well. Seems everyone wants the pros to suffer and barely break par every event playing courses where "target golf" is the only way it can be played. No strategy, just penal penal penal. I think the the course actually is hard enough, but the tour always decided to overwater it so it became soft. If they just had anybody who cares about strategy run the event, it wouldn't be as easy as they made it out to be.

In my (correct) opinion:
Best course: Pebble Beach Worst course: Torrey by a mile. Honorable mention to East Lake (sorry Ross fans) Most underrated course: TPC Louisiana (Im sure I will get hate for this one)

Old White is by far the best (if still on the schedule)
Firestone is by far the worst.

Glad I'm not the only Old White fan... Firestone's dull. I could say that for at least 50 percent of PGA tour venues nowadays. (At least it isn't on tour anymore.)

But the rest of the TPC courses are a bit crappy. Only two TPC courses I like are TPC River Highlands and Sawgrass. Even though TPC Scottsdale is five minutes up the road and have played there a hand full of times, it gets overhyped due to the 16th hole. The stadium vibe of 16 during tournament play is incredible but for the "commoners" its just a mediocre mid length par 3.

To be honest, I have a hard time getting excited about most tour venues. TPC this, TPC that. The ocean holes at Pebble Beach are awesome (especially 7 and 8), but the inland holes are meh. Maybe for regular tour events, Kapalua would be the one that stands out for me, but only when it's firm.
Overall, it just seems like there are many cookie cutter courses out there to ensure that the players' feelings don't get hurt and the really interesting courses are played during the majors.
