Springbrook Country Club is my fictional spin on Willie Park Jr's "Meadowbrook Country Club". The course is a par 70 that plays to a full yardage of 6890yds. With this course I took the aesthetics of Meadowbrook which is basically the same look as something Raynor would have done and I also turned all but one hole into templates. The course is a pure parkland with wide open views of the tidy land which is mostly a sea of grass painted over soft rolling hills. It's very much an old looking golf course with a no thrills approach to the presentation of the property as a whole, the visual attraction lies within the holes themselves rather than the surroundings.

Hole 13 - Par 3 - Redan (198yds)
Hole 14 - Par 4 - Double Plateau (313yds)

Hole 17 - Par 5 - Alps/Biarritz (569yds)

Just finished my first round and made it a favorite that I'll return to a lot. I played pins 2, but want to go back and see how the holes, epic that they were, will play in the other pin placements.
I fell in love with template holes when I was a junior golfer and read books about Raynor, Macdonald and the seemingly strange holes and greens....to an American that is.
Your course hearkens back to those template hole dreams and I enjoyed looking at the overhead views just as much as playing the holes. Each of the holes evoked thoughts of strategy and placement and the sculpting was mesmerizing!
Sure there might be players who go in a smash their way through the course, but they would be missing all of the wonder of the influence these holes have on golf's history, architecture and style of today.
Super job and really a blast to play and I know I'll enjoy it future days, months and likely years!

Selfishly hoping this ends up in a CC tournament soon because it will be an excellent ball striking and lag putting challenge. catcherman22 snag this before somebody else does. It surely has TST in its future too! |

I love your template courses joe and this one was brilliant! Loved the design and the textures you used and the chocolate drops on several holes were a “sweet” touch! This one went right to the favorites! Good luck in the contest!
